vogue65 mentioned in another thread that Jim McIlvaine is leaving the radio broadcast. Is that true? When? Why? What's he up to next? I think he's been a great complement to Homer over the years, and wish him all the best with whatever he's moving on to.

brewcity77

I can't remember where, but I also thought I heard something about this in the wake of the birth of his son.

Litehouse

I thought he said he was moving after next season during one of the broadcasts this year.

cheebs09

I think he is moving somewhere warm based on a tweet from awhile ago. I think it was a year or two away due to a child finishing up school.

His daughter is a Junior where I teach.  I imagine once she graduates (2018) he'll move on from MU too.

#5
He let it slip a few weeks ago on a broadcast, Homer acted suprised and the subject was changed.

I  have learned a great deal from listening to him, at 2 (CET) Central European Time, on TuneIn radio.

McAllvane knows his stuff and keeps his emotions out of the reporting and it is far better than the bias we usually hear on FOX 1 where they treat us like poor cousins from Wisconsin.

Does this affect Wojo' s offer to the baby?

McAllvane said he was buying a horse farm in Texas for his wife, or something like that.   I  was cought by suprise so my scratch pad was turned off.

Baby, what baby, yes it is about family priorities.  Don't mean to spread rumors, but it was on a public broadcast, I  hope my old memory is working on this one, ha.

He's mentioned Texas numerous times on Twitter.  I don't remember the timeline.

Definitely a bummer.  He started off a bit rocky with Homer, but he really settled in and was fantastic compliment.  And no offense to Brute Force, he ended up being levels better than George, IMO.

He had confirmed this a while back in twitter. Looking to move for warm weather. Wife loves horses, I think that is part of the deal.
Goal is National Championship

Don't worry. I'll be checking in after they move to Texas to make sure his room has the proper blue and gold wallpaper.

I do know, Newsie is right on you knowing ball.

Hate to lose Mac calling MU games on the radio. As much as I love George Thompson, Mac was a big step up. Always appreciate his insight, analysis and humor. Hope he remains close to the program.

Heard about it a couple weeks ago.  Family considerations is all I'll say.  Too far to commute.

I'd heard he was here for this season and next....so appreciate him while you can. While I respect George for all sorts of reasons but always preferred Jim in the analyst role

Could be he is already spoken for?

They had some guy or former player on the broadcast the last game who I thought was very good....a former MU player.

I miss his name, but he mentioned that he wanted to get into coaching but seemed like he would be good in broadcasting. Was it Damon Key?

Darn I forget his name...but he was very insightful...I wish I remembered who it was.

tower912

Tony Smith has done a couple of games.

Indeed, we should start the replacement list of MU players who'd be good next to Homer.
