1.  Wojo apparently had a message to send.
2.  Apparently the upperclassmen listened.
3.  Consistent unselfish ball movement, consistent defensive effort all night.
4.  Luke played hard, blocked some shots, still lost his man in the pick and roll.
5.  Heldt did not play like bambi on roller skates tonight.
6.  Having both bigs in foul trouble against IUPUI.    Grrrrrrrrrrr.
7.  KR did play better, but his nature is still that of an unrepentant gunner.
8.  I want to see Rowsey raining 3's.   He's dead on-line, but consistently short.
9.  I like the line change substitutions.
10.   Needed this cupcake to reset the attitude.    It did the job.

Need to be careful not to read to much into a cupcake game. Good practice game against a team ranked 169 by Pomeroy... It is a start.

Y'all happy now, hey?

I'm not unhappy.    I'm glad Wojo upset the bottle of sand, I'm glad he spread the minutes out and punished defensive lapses.   Some defensive nits to pick (and roll....and another basket for IUPUI).    Good shooting (created by good ball movement) covers up some bad defense.

I believe Pomeroy had us winning by 15. That's pretty solid.

This was unsettling.  Loved Hauser's effort when we had to go small (pulled down 9 boards), but that's not a good backup plan against Big East teams.

It seems like a lot of the scorers got the message to move the ball and were more selective in their shots (Fischer 6-6, Cheatham 7-9, Johnson 5-7, Wilson 6-7).  Then you have the 3-10 from Reinhardt.  Somewhat forgivable with the 8-8 from the line.  Rowsey also won't go 1-5 every day, and only one was a bad take.

It's IUPUI - it's IUPUI

Could be worse.  We could be down at the half to IPFW, kinda like It's Indiana, It's Indiana, ai'na?

They had some very athletic kids. So although it was a cakewalk it was a good cupcake to play against.  Any victory is sweet.

My problem was that his trips to the line came on mostly out of control, bad shots. I felt like tonight, 2/3 of the seniors got the message. Reinhardt, not so much.

Ron Patterson was a guy Buzz recruited after he was Newbilled at Indiana.

I totally forgot he was there. Wasn't he also committed to Syracuse at one point?

He ended up choosing Syracuse over Marquette after the IU "incident."  Buzz had an in home with him.

"After playing sparingly as a freshman, Patterson averaged 2.6 points, 1.7 assists and 0.9 rebounds in 13.9 minutes per game as a sophomore. He was banned by head coach Jim Boeheim from shooting 3s partway through conference play, as he shot 17.3 percent from beyond the arc."

Haha!

You could completely make up a "recruit" or a guy that Wojo "missed" on and I'm 98.7% sure MUFNY would chime in that he's a "player" and Wojo mishandled something along the way.

Well, I think now we all understand MUFNY's frame of reference a little better

Lennys Tap

Luke, Duane and JJJ shot it 19 times and scored 35 points - unreal efficiency. Rest of the team? Meh.

You forgot Haanif's 22 points on 11 shots and Cam's and Matt's combining for 4 points on 1 shot. Sam's 8 on 6 shots isn't bad either.

The guy had a couple of decent plays tonight. That is all I was saying. #22 looked like he had some ability as well.

He only draws the easy contact fouls (teal)

seriously, I get what your saying but if he and the coaches see matchups are favorable for him to drive and draw contact, as long as it's being called, why not?  Gets to the line and gets them in foul trouble.  I agree he is not shy about getting his shots...and some are unnerving...but this board (not you) is ripping on him nonstop even when he makes stuff happen.

I assume Wojo will tank him from the game if he feels he is a liability.  He strikes me as a guy who does other things to make positive impact (rebounds, defense, etc) but since he does "chuck it"  he gets extra scrutiny...it seems.

Earl Tatum

Enjoyable. Loved every minute.
