I'm holding out hope for one more year of playing with his brother.  And I'm using as evidence the fact that Wojo isn't recruiting any power forwards.  It's just a sliver of hope, but that's pretty much all I've got.

Even if Henry stays, feels like we're thin at PF for next year and then the year after as well.

Not really. If HE returns, he is going to play 38 MPG.  It'd be nice to get a freshman PF though.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

Article mentions wade had 35 as a freshman vs depaul....so that anwsered the freshman record question.

If Henry does leave after this season, what are the odds that Wally gives up basketball and switches his focus to track full-time? That's where his athletic career is headed and if he's no longer playing basketball with his brother, and assuming he'd get a track scholarship, would that be something he'd consider? (asking rhetorically)

Not trying to wish Wally away or anything. Just curious if anyone has heard that option raised.

If Henry stays, that is the only reason why. An emotional/personal decision to stay and play with his brother (which is a perfectly valid reason, btw)

There is no basketball or financial reason for him to stay at MU another year. Anyone trying to make an argument that he would be better off staying for any other reason than for him to play with his brother is just wrong. Hopefully for us, that reason gives us another year of Henry in an MU uniform, but I still think it is unlikely.

Hadn't thought about it like this - but the article goes there; Henry shines against butler, blocks Dunn at the buzzer, plays equal to Simmons, and beats wisco- pretty great year so far

I wonder about Wally's ambitions too....obviously its high jumping not basketball. He's got to be thinking can he go higher than 7'5''+ whatever he hit. I think he needs to get higher for Olympic qualification though.  So I would bet he's aiming at 2020.

If that's the case, maybe it was a 1 year plan for the family all along...this is the year they will cherish...both on the same team and now time to pursue their dreams.

But I sure hope I'm wrong...1 more year together please.

Wade didn't qualify academically and couldn't play as a freshman. His game vs DePaul was in his first year playing but he was a sophomore.

Homer said on his show last night he never thought Henry was staying more than year. I would not be holding out hope or looking for signals that he is back next year. He is a great kid and going to enjoy the next 5-7 weeks watching him in a Warrior uniform.

What's the record for "true" freshmen?
Have some patience, FFS.

Henry will stay for one of these reasons:

He is enjoying his college experience.

He wants to see how far Marquette can go next year.

Other than that, nothing from this board will matter.   Enjoy.

But he likes playing basketball more.  And I don't think having 4 years of sole focus on high jumping vs. 31/2 will make that much of a difference.

He is not staying for any reason. Find it funny that many feel he is not ready for NBA and many feel he is ready but will stay because he loves Wally and the college experience. The HE one and done horse left the barn a long, long time ago.

Huge guy

NBA scouts love him. Lots of upside. They can't get himself the association fast enough

If I was still a student, I would try my damndest to start a "We love Henry" chant for the remaining home games he has. May not work but it couldn't hurt.

He was indeed a sophomore, but was a freshman in terms of NCAA eligibility.  He could have played four years if he wanted.  So it all depends on how you want to look at it.
