Any information from his weekend, not sure I have seen anything yet.

From earlier in week:

@WisBBYearbook: Marquette is hoping for more good news in recruiting when former Madison Memorial star Darryln Willis (6-8) takes an official this weekend.

Fingers crossed. Even if Henry stays, we are still thin at the 4. Willis would be a great get for next year. We have to keep that front court stout.

No word on whether or not Wojo got the ice cream truck that convinced Henry to commit.

He only hauls that out for McD AAs.

Marquette's heavy artillery. Somewhat pales in comparison with chaperoned SEC campus visits.

When they start letting you in women's locker rooms at the Y.

He previously said he is going on all five visits.  I believe Marquette was #3.

Ex-Madison Memorial forward Darral Willis said he had a good visit to Marquette over the weekend. Will visit Arizona State this week.

Was he always visiting Alabama? Mark Miller said he is visiting Roll tide. Avery Johnson has been snatching up studs left and right lately.

Made me laugh, so worth the shout out.

Well done.

If he wants to come home, then MU is right for him, but competing against ASU and other southern schools, hard to beat.  This one will be a challenge to pull off, particularly when he visits ASU.  But then again, who wants to be inside all the time at that school.

So either Arizona State (and Alabama and Mississippi State) has been completely inept over multiple coaches in not fully using their "weather advantage," or weather just isn't as important as you think it is.  I tend to think it's the latter.

Arizona didn't become a national power because suddenly 18 year olds found out it was warm.  They hired a great coach, poured resources into the program, and took advantage of a UCLA program in disarray to draw kids out of LA.

Agreed.

Also, Willis went to HS in Madison and is now in Mississippi...so he already knows that Wisconsin is colder than other places.  If warmer weather was going to be a huge part of his decision, he probably wouldn't have bothered to visit MU in he first place.

jsglow

I'm of the opinion that weather is WAY down the list for most D1 basketball players.  Ability to have an impact, relationship with the coach, facilities, program success/exposure and proximity to home (if desired) all play a much bigger role.  Heck, they live inside the gym.

It's like some people never looked on a map to learn where Syracuse and Storrs, Conn. are located.

Hmmm.....Louisville in the same context of snatch and studs boggles the mind. Throw in a smidgeon of Porcini's and Pitino, and you have the scenario for a college frat party...or Animal House.
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

ChitownSpaceForRent

I think warm weather schools have an effect for football recruiting but is a non factor in most basketball recruits.

Just like I thought Brendan B would chose MU I do not think Darrlyn will. Nothing official just my perception.  Headed to CO this weekend and will see what I can find  out when there.  MU and Packers.. couldn't pass the opportunity to do both in one weekend.

Excuse my ignorance, but why would the Marquette basketball team be in Denver next weekend?

Edit: Scrimmage with Stanford is in CO Springs.  Didn't catch the location until I just looked it up again.
