I've been following this story. Its still early but it seems like it might have been a true random act of violence. No motive other than violence for violence sake.

Not to get all stat nerd on you, but 49% of the population would be below average, not 50%. Plus, I'd actually assume that human intelligence doesn't follow a standard bell curve distribution, but what do I know.

Wouldn't it be 49.99% (repeating, of course) -- which is much closer to 50% than 49%.     And I'm not even going to touch the distribution issue.

I think this may be overstated, scare tactics doom.

If N. Korea were to ever use these weapons on anyone, they would cease to exist within the hour. Even Lil' Kim Un Um Jun Jum knows this.

I usually don't buy into conspiracy theories....and I usually assume the best in people....but there is no way I would trust that those chips aren't being used to somehow gather personal or location data.

I agree.  Serious doom. No way.  And one more thing.  The EEOC better keep a sharp eye on this.  If there's even a hint of favoritism shown toward the 'chip robots'........
