With the GOP in control of the entire government, the only little bit of leverage the Dems have is that 60 votes are needed to get anything through the Senate. So that means the GOP needs to convince 7 Dem senators to side with them.

The Dems are trying to use that little bit of leverage to make sure as many Americans as possible have access to good, affordable health care. Some nerve!

Meanwhile, the Republican congresspeople and president are saying if they don't get their way, they will fire hundreds of thousands of federal employees, thereby hurting American families financially. How noble!

Seriously. Some things in the Bible aren't specifically mentioned or are vague,  so I can understand how some can twist themselves into believing certain hateful stances are biblically justified.

But Jesus was pretty explicit about welcoming foreigners and aliens. Didn't really leave much to interpretation
