It was set up the same last year.
Villanova-VCU 6pm espn2
Michigan-Oregon 8:30 espn3.

MNF is on ESPN. so, basketball can only be on ESPN2 & ESPNU.

LSU will be a mighty tough game.  They have Simmons, Blankeney and Sampson as incoming freshmen and Johnny Jones has increased his win total each year he's been there.  Should be a tough matchup.

To translate this into Marquette-speak:

LSU lost nearly half their scoring, their two best players to the NBA and nobody REALLY knows how good Simmons, Blankeny and Sampson will be.  Top returning scorer Hornsby is good, but he wasn't an all-SEC player. They'll be lucky to make the tournament this year.

Have some patience, FFS.

Should be a fun game. I think it will really come down to how Traci looks right out of the gates.

I'd put what we are returning up against theirs. Duane and Luke especially plus the jump from JJJ I expect(and Sandy)

But their incoming class has more of a sure fire punch to it.

Will be a good test. Certainly winnable, but far from a good bet.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I don't mean this in the wrong way, but LSU is a team that may win (and lose) games based on how questionable shots are falling.

Josh Gray and Antonio Blankeney are two good examples of this.

Gray is a guy who will occasionally shoot from deep, but can't make them. He's a scorer who doesn't shoot well and turns it over a lot.

Blankeney (McD's/top 15 type) can do amazing things, but he will also take some wild mid-range shots, crazy floaters, etc.. and is prone to having pukey games.

Last season LSU's offense (which wasn't good) started inside with Martin & Mickey.. both of whom did work on the D-boards. They return some solid, quality guys, but this will be a different look.. and early on, is it Hornsby knocking down treys against MU... or Blakeney throwing up difficult attempts?

As with so many games.. the question is how well the shots are falling.

If you want to crown 'em....
...but this game is a good opportunity to reveal to the nation that MU is again a force.

These games in Europe will be so beneficial for the team as we only have 4 guys returning who played last year and Luke only half a season. To actually play some real competition will only enhance the practice sessions before the season starts. There are going to be a lot of rookie mistakes this season so my expectations will be cautiously optimistic.

This is a nitpick, but the "Luke only played half a season" thing is far from correct, even though many (including Wojo, IIRC) have said it.  He practiced from the start of the season and then played in 75% of the games.  He'll be much improved this year because he'll not have to worry about his shoulder, but he had something very close to a full year last year.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Still, he is a junior that's only played 27 collegiate games.

If by 27 you mean 37.
