Marquette confirmed it is under Title IX investigation for its handling of a sexual harassment case that didn't include sexual assault.

Note that this does NOT include athletics.

There's no story here. One student filed a sexual harassment claim against another student. Marquette immediately contacted the police. The claim is going through the proper channels.
Have some patience, FFS.

GGGG

The student must have complained to DOE that it wasn't investigated properly which triggered the investigation.  This has become fairly routine so chick is right...not a story.

Tell that to the victim.

I guess the story here is that in the past 100% of these incidents involved students, and 2% included student athletes.  But 0% were handled per federal guidelines.

Now 100% involve students and 100% are handled per federal guidelines.

It seems in the press that any incident involving a student athlete is a worse incident for some very odd reason when they all are equally bad. Now the focus is back on the victims and due process.

Of course it is a story to the victim.  But is it newsworthy?

Yes...just like it is when it involves a Florida State quarterback.  Some cops kill a perp and we have riots.  Eleven young men killed in the same neighborhood in a weekend and we have apathy.  Spike Lee has it right with Chiraq.  MSM has it wrong.  We live in a very misguided society. Who knew?
