Seeing Rich Gannon throw five picks in the Super Bowl. (He robbed Favre of his fourth MVP, so it was beautiful watching him and his team, which had Tim Brown and Jerry Rice, btw, go down in flames).  I feel kinda bad because Gannon is, by all accounts, a super great guy and he is also a huge Favre fan, but nonetheless he did not deserve that MVP.

Without trying to figure out my top list, one of the most recents was watching Johnny Manziel's first NFL start, 2 INTs, quarterback rating of 27.3, sacked three times.  I believe he also had 2 other interceptions that ended up being negated by penalties.  And then of course, after every bad play watching the Bengal players taunt him with his "money" sign.

I wouldn't have called that one schadenfreude for me.  I was rooting for NC State, but basically I root for the underdog when I have no other natural rooting interest.  That Houston team (Olajuwon, Drexler, Micheaux, Alvin Franklin, Michael Young, Benny Anders) was so good and fun to watch.  If Guy Lewis didn't outsmart himself by trying to run clock instead of crushing NC State the last 5 minutes or so, I think Houston wins going away.

Yup. That game may have cost Guy V. Lewis his place in the BB hall of fame for many years, until finally making it last year. Heck,  they even elected Jimmy V to the Hall before Guy V., despite Guy having 5 final fours, players like Elvin Hayes, Don Chaney, Otis Birdsong, Olajuwon, and Drexler..

..and Guy put Houston BB on the map. This years NCAA tourney, by example, had Houston kids including,: the UK Harrison brothers, Duke's Justise Winslow (son of UHer Ricky Winslow), Wich State Zach Brown(mom played Volleyball for UH),  UNC Justin Jackson , and OU Khadeem Lattin (son of Houston Comets Monica Lamb, and grandson of David "Big Daddy" Lattin--of Texas Western/Glory Road Fame).

I know I am getting old when I only recognize new players last names by their famous dads, and now even grandfather's. lol
I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

1)1988 World Series - Dodgers Vs. Athletics. I grew up in LA and I loved that Dodger team.
Everyone assumed the A's would steamroll the Dodgers. Gibby's homerun and the dominance of Hershiser still bring a smile to my face.

2)1988 NBA - Lakers Vs Pistons. Showtime Vs the Bad Boys. Laimbeer, Rodman, Mahorn, Salley, etc. They were a very dirty bunch. I hated that team. I know they would beat the Lakers the following year, but I thoroughly enjoyed that 88 series.

Future
Manny Pacquiao Vs Floyd Mayweather. I want to see Floyd lose so bad. I know it probably won't happen, but a guy can dream can't he.

the Chicago Bears parade of starting QB's over the last 20 some years (and don't give me that sh!t about luck having Rodgers following Favre, the Bears could have drafted Rodgers but took Cedric Benson instead)

While I agree, this might be more cruel than the Derrick Rose/injury comments above.

Nobody could believe it when Millen was hired.   Then we couldn't believe he lasted as long as he did.   The only person who didn't realize he was a disaster was the owner.

Super Bowl XXXII was nice.  Took way too much crap as a Niners fan in those days, and it was great when the expected back to back title was halted by the heavy underdogs.  UW constantly losing Rose Bowls in recent years was cool too.

I'd really like to see this fight, but not enough to fork over a C-note for PPV.

Any Chicago-area Scoopers planning to watch this and willing to invite me over?  I'll bring the beer.   ;D
Have some patience, FFS.

I'd say the 2003 NLCS, one of the greatest meltdowns I've ever had the pleasure of witnessing.

How can you feel Schadenfreude when the Cubs lose?  Its like enjoying finding out that a kid with leukemia's dog just died...

Well, kinda.

Their fans were absolutely insufferable that fall. Especially all the Cubbie-come-latelies who lined the streets outside the ballpark the night of Game 6.

The top of the 8th was the most amazing half-hour of sports I've ever witnessed in person. I had never seen a collapse like that before -- with the amount of drama and unusual circumstances -- and I'm pretty sure I never will again.

Your schadenfreudian moment says a lot about a person.  I discovered about 5-6 people that I have absolutely no interest in meeting outside this board.   The overlapping portion of the Venn diagram of our interests would be very small.

You are dead to me.

I find it interesting how many on this board are fans of MLB teams that make it to the World Series consistently.

I'd guess most sports bars will carry it. I want to see it too. Was thinking about either going somewhere to watch or pooling together with a bunch of buddies at someone's house
