Calm down crazy. No one thinks we got him. Just would love to have him.

Just like Wisconsin, ISU and Kstate fans that I am already seeing around the web.

He is a good pick-up for either school.  He was close to Wisconsin the first time so I see him going there, but this will be more interesting because of Wojo, otherwise MU probably
would not be considered, he has few weeks to decide.  More excitement on the recruiting front for sure.

muwarrior69

So he would have 3 semesters of eligibility?

HutchwasClutch

He's leaving Duke because of his minutes there.  Would his minutes at MU be looking that much better to him given who we've already got in the fold for next season?

I'll trust Wojo if he's a good fit or not, and not force matchmaking because of the Duke connection alone.  We have no idea what Wojo thinks of him.  Obviously Coach K wasn't terribly high on him anymore.

So are we just going to get all excited for Duke leftovers? I'm not.

The Internet seems to indicate that Wojo was pretty involved with Ojeleye's recruitment to Duke (i.e. was on the home visit with Coack K), so the relationship is there.

"Yesterday, shortly after the visit with Coach K and Coach Steve "Wojo" Wojciechowski, Ojeleye told the staff that he would like to join Duke's program."

There it is!!! THe smoking gun, it is true, Wojo is going to be all over this guy!

Holy cow.

No. He's played in 2 years, so he has 2 years of competition eligibility remaining.

He'd sit for a year in residence... ~a year from now he would have 2.5 years left in which he can play in 2 different seasons of his choice.

This will be a steal for Wojo.  Does everything, and can jump.  What a coup this would be. Saying prayers.

Based on what?  Coach K taking him out of their rotation?  Seriously, some here need to get a fricking grip.  Others need to stop pretending they have all the inside knowledge too.

Anyway........... compared to other names that come up.

Gotta feel at least... aiiight... about him as a possibility to MU.

You do know mine was a silly, facetious response to another poster saying he was going to be praying for this transfer to choose Marquette, right?

Ahh no, I can't read other posters minds from what's written.  Can you?

Put it in teal, follow it up with a statement of some sort, etc. to help us simpleton's out a little.

Nope he is the same as Burton. Would have 1.5 years if he started next December.

I believe it would be 2 years if he decided to sit all of next year though.

No. It's exactly what I said.

Can play in 2 more seasons. Needs to sit one year. Whether he wants to use those 2 season of eligibility starting at the conclusion of next fall semester or wait until the 2016-17 season - his option.

2 years left. 3.5 on the 5-year clock. 1 year of residence required.

You're trying to combine different rules.

Why would his situation be any different than Burton's? Everyone said that Deonte has 1.5 years of eligibility if he starts second semester next year. Semi is the same way.

Why are you two arguing about saying the same thing.  If he starts next fall he would play in his two seasons 2015-2016 (0.5 years) and 2016-2017 (full year).  So would have 1.5 years of eligible playtime.

If he sits out all of next year he would play his two seasons in 2016-2017 (full year) and 2017-2018 (full year), for 2.0 years of eligible playtime.

Would be a very nice pickup for us. He has done well in school and has a good reputation. He has skills and size that  match well with our needs. I am not concerned that he wasn't getting much time at Duke. They have a very deep lineup of talent and there are so many minutes to go around . We  will need a forward like him with college experience next year.  Will be a nice replacement for Juan.

No. Deonte has 2 years of competition eligibility remaining. If he plays next year, he'd only play "half" the year. But that's his choice. He has 2 years left.

If he left basketball for good, that wouldn't mean he has "zero years of eligibility." If he said, "hey, I want to play next year once I become eligible, but then I'm done.. " that doesn't mean he has 0.5 years of eligibility.

He has 2 years of competition eligibility remaining. That's fact.

I don't have any inside knowledge, but I'm pretty sure that if Semi doesn't choose Marquette, it'll be Derrick Wilson's fault.

Dude. That is literally exactly what I said.

If Burton or Semi DECIDE TO PLAY NEXT YEAR. They start SECOND SEMESTER and play that semester and then all of 2016-2017.

That is 1.5 years left of playing basketball.

If they sits all of next year for whatever reason. They can play 2016-2017 and 2017-2018.

It's like you are trying to argue something that isn't there.
