And Bo Ryan leaves without shaking the hands of the Duke players.

Class act.

It's a tall order to be the one of the biggest a-holes in college basketball but Bo seems to have no trouble with it

Badgers are overrated. They were exposed tonight . I don't see them as materially different than Michigan State or Ohio State. We still have to play great to beat them for sure , however they are beatable if we play hard and smart for all 40 minutes .

I don't think it's so much them being overrated but Duke being that good. I'd put them ahead of both Ohio State and well ahead of Michigan State.

Duke has a combination of elite guards and strong bigs. They play a great brand of defense. Sure, it may be encouraging to see Wisconsin at less than their best, but don't forget it was a hyper-talented Duke team that made them look like that.

Not sure about that. After watching Ohio State last night, and MSU tonight, I think UW is appreciably better than those two teams. Duke did a great job of taking them out of their flow offensively. Not a lot of teams have the size and quickness to do that to them.

Yeah, Ryan has always been a grade A as$hole. What a piece of work.

I agree that he seems to be a bit of an angry and bitter person when he doesn't get his way (whether that's poor calls or shoddy play from his team).

Thing is, he got virtually every call tonight and still was a tool afterwards. He is a perfect representative for that school of asswipes.

Did anyone see Ty Jones during the post game? Kid spoke like a 35 year old NBA vet and is still 18. Duke is looking at elite composure and leadership for as long as he stays.

I still think Bo is the grinch, but I did see this on twitter:

@PaintTouches not true. I rewound ESPN. He did go to the back of the line because players were still celebrating after he shook K's hand...

Not get his way? I've never seen a team get more calls year after year.

Wisconsin was clearly the victim of the classic trap game. They have been so focused on Saturday's game against MU they didn't fully prepare to play tonight.

Eldon

You guys who wanted to see Duke win, is your desire of seeing Wisconsin lose stronger than your desire to see MU succeed?

Call me crazy, but I'll take an RPI boost over seeing disappointed Badger fans every single time.

At the level UW is at this year, that RPI boost is negligible. Seeing them give up 65% from the field at home is way more fun.

I was actually thinking that when I was watching the interview. He was really well-spoken and sounded better than most NBA players. i also enjoyed how Bilas at the end of the interview was like "are you really 18?"

I couldn't be happier. I hate the Vadgers. Hate to break it to you, but RPI doesn't matter this year. MU ain't going to the dance.

Now, next year is a different story.

Well, with a 10pt WI loss, kenpom now gives us a 19% chance of winning, vs 16% if WI won by the predicted 2pts.  So that's good news :)  And it means I still hold hope of MU succeeding!

OK, Crazy.

I'm sorry, but it was impossible for me to root for Wisconsin. I rooted for a good game first, and then, as it progressed, I was enjoying Bucky getting beat on their home floor.

As for a subject brought up in a couple of earlier comments ...

Wisconsin definitely is better than Ohio State and Michigan State. Duke is clearly one of the best two teams in the country.

Superbar...please

I don't understand why it bothers you that this is in this thread.

First of all, there are Marquette implications as Wisconsin is our next opponent.

Second of all, even if there aren't MU implications, if you don't want to see what's in the thread just don't click on it.

Third of all, if you care all that much, apply to be a moderator. Then you can have The Power!

Where did I say this happens often?  I'm only commenting that it is the case when it happens (it's notable because he will complain every time, and even for a team that gets more than its share of calls, if you complain about every bad call, significant or not, it will pile up).

I would think Michigan St. losing to an unranked ND team would be worse for our RPI than Becky losing to #4 Duke.

You're crazy.   I started watching the game and tried to root for Wiscy in order to help MU's RPI.    That lasted about a nanosecond.   The fact that I actually have always respected Duke and have learned to loathe bucky was just too strong.   Go Duke!

This is a community.  At one point when I wrote this and in others, four out of the top five threads were not about MU basketball, which is Superbar material.  I am interested in it, as I am in other Superbar threads, but if we have to run to the moderators so much versus self policing, what's the point? It is common courtesy.

If you and others don't agree, then I will start a thread about my dog or quilting class here....because it is some how related to MU basketball (my dog's name is Jacques and I am making a quilt with a Golden Eagle on it).

Now, next year is a different story.

RPI and Kenpom and all that stuff is for geeks anyway.  Win your games and the rest will take care of itself.  If you have to worry about RPI rankings of every team you play and every team they play, then 1. You have way too much time on your hands, 2. Your team probably isn't that good anyway.

As far as Wisconsin, they could lose every game by 30 and rot in hell and I would be just fine with that.  That goes for football and any other sport as well.
