Zone is going to work well against them. Not as good shooters as I thought. A lot of their points came from Jackson driving the lane or him passing backdoor. I do think Derrick is a better defender the any Duke guard. Were gonna give them fits.

I don't know man... I like our switch to zone because it maximizes our current personnel on D... but teams have been able to find open threes against it when patient. UW hits their open threes. If they get the kind of looks MSU was able to manufacture, it will be a double digit loss no matter what we do. Of course, I hope you're right and I have no idea what I'm talking about!

brewcity77

They have a bunch of tall shooters that can easily shoot over the zone. Numerous good passers and strong rebounders. They are pretty much tailor made to beat the zone. We will need to play our best game and hope they aren't at their best.

This is the best Wisconsin team I've ever seen this early in the year.

In life, it is good to have rules to follow. It makes questions like the one posed initially easy to answer. I have a 10 very simple rules in my life:

1. Never root for Cincinnati unless they are playing Louisville, Duke, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech (2014 Amendment), Indiana or Wisconsin.

2. Never root for Louisville unless they are playing Duke, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech (2014 Amendment), Indiana or Wisconsin.

3. Never root for Duke unless they are playing Notre Dame, Virginia Tech (2014 Amendment), Indiana or Wisconsin.

4. Never root for Notre Dame unless they are playing Virginia Tech (2014 Amendment), Indiana or Wisconsin.

5. Never root for Virginia Tech unless they are not coached by Buzz.

6. Never root for Indiana unless they are not coached by Crean.

7. If Virginia Tech plays Indiana, hope for a tie, or hibernate until news reports on the outcome are no longer readily available.

8. Never, ever root for Wisconsin regardless who is coaching.

9. If Virginia Tech plays Wisconsin or Indiana plays Wisconsin, curl up in the fetal position, suck thumb and quietly sob, "no, no, no, no, no, no" over and over. NOTE: Happens at least twice per year. \

10. Never, ever, ever, root for Wisconsin. Or, Michigan football.

You never, ever, ever root for ND.

Ever.

Any questions?

UW struggling vs.zone.  Big Frank is getting it, but others confused.

I don't know how we deal with Kaminsky. We don't have anyone strong enough to contain him physically, and he's more athletic than Steve. Who on this team guards him? He could score 40 on us.

warriorstrack

Out hustle, warrior pride ?  Gong to be a tough game for warriors to keep close

brewcity77

We're getting the template on how to beat them tonight, but I'm not sure we have the personnel, and the Badgers will be better prepared for zone come Saturday.

PGsHeroes32

Yup this wisky team has same weakness as last year.

Good guards can torch them

Floor slap???? We OWN that now.

It's veryyyyy apparent duke is much much more athletic than Wisconsin.  Wisconsin is a good shooting team, but you can really see the athletic difference between the two

Yep..and a zone.  Why Koenig doesn't start is a Bo Puzzle.  As predicted at the urinal after the UNI game:  MU Beats Buck, Bank It!

I think it's to keep the faith in the senior.

Koenig and Jackson are both defensive liabilities so he goes with the senior.

Will Duane be our Tyus Jones?

And Bo Ryan leaves without shaking the hands of the Duke players.

Class act.

Saw that, what a tool

Coach K stopped to talk, Bo gave him a brief shake, then walked off.

Wisconsin is not a good team when Jackson scores 25.  He needs to distribute.

Meanwhile, they show Duke freshman Tyus Jones taking time to give a hug to every Badger including the guys who never got the warm ups off. I remember drooling over him for the 5 minutes or so it seemed Buzz was after him. Phenomenal talent and seems like a really classy kid. Bo could learn a thing or two from young Mr Jones.

Yeah, Ryan has always been a grade A as$hole. What a piece of work.

Badgers are overrated. They were exposed tonight . I don't see them as materially different than Michigan State or Ohio State. We still have to play great to beat them for sure , however they are beatable if we play hard and smart for all 40 minutes .

The zone "guards" Kaminsky.  There is zero reason for us to try to play man against Wisconsin.
