Ha, that's been my desktop for years. I f'in hate the rodents. I still mumble f the Badgers to my self every time I see someone wearing rodent gear.

Just mumble? I've done it out loud especially when intoxicated and especially after the loss to Northwestern this year.

Well...my girl says I don't know how to whisper. It's somewhere above a mumble to outside observers.

Let's go

Great Pic the captures the era well. Although the Badgers had nothing back then, their coach John Powless is the number one ranked tennis player in the US in the  80 year old division today.

Someone bought my 10-year-old son a Final Four Tee from last year... without my knowledge.  I proceeded to soak it in lighter fluid and burn it with my son cheering gleefully (not to mention my enjoyment).

Found this ....

MU wins at Bucky 59-58 on the last shot of the game during a February 1974 game in the UW field-house.

Al jumps on the table to "salute" the Bucky fans.  Notice Hank behind him (right), is that the most animated Hank has ever been?  In the foreground is a dejected Bucky coach John Powless. (FYI - John is still around and one of the best age group senior tennis players in the country.)

Look closely to the left of Al, the guy giving him the finger.  That is Glenn Hughes, the father of Bucky players Kim and Kerry Hughes (twins).  Kim Hughes was a Bucky star and a solid NBA player.  He is currently an assistant for Portland, and close with Wes Matthews.

Looks a little like Henry Ellenson.

Just Hope he dresses (and plays) better than Butch.

It's a great picture and wonderful story. But just curious ...

If Wisconsin beats us Saturday on a last-second shot and Bo jumps up on the scorer's table to salute our fans who had been giving him crap all game long, would it be un-classy for us to give Bo the finger?

Or would it be required?!?!?!?

The game Al stood on the table was played at the Milwaukee Arena. The Badgers actually had a very good team that year. The Hughes twins both 6'11",Dale Koehler 6'8" and guards Gary Anderson 6'5" and Marcus McCoy 6'6".I believe they finished 4th in the Big Ten that year.
