Shame on the Marquette "fans" who are already giving up on Wojo after three games. Brent left us with a short, inexperienced and undermanned team. Lots of games left to play and this year is a work in progress for everyone, players and coaches alike.
It just sucks to be honest. It just seems like badgers have ask the momentum in the rivalry now and with them adding Stone they become a force while we have all these good 4 starplayers and can't beat the 2nd best team in Omaha.

Bull$hit. You can call this team "short, inexperienced and undermanned" but this should have been a win. There is no excuse for this loss.

I must have missed the news.  DS retook his ACT and passed?  Then, he chose the Vadgers?  I'd have thought I'd have seen both of those stories.

Well we all knew this year was going to be bad. I had accepted it long ago.

Issue is I still had this game pegged as a win. Such a shame.

While I knew we were not a tourney team I was at least optimistic we could collect some high major wins(against bad teams). But now I highly doubt we beat either GT or ASU.

I understand the talent is lacking but guys just aren't putting in effort on the defensive end.  When you hear the radio analysts say "standing around"  there's a problem on the coaching end of things.

GooooMarquette

My only prediction for this year was that we'd win some we expect to lose, and lose some we expect to win.

Today did nothing to change that.

Nate, put the bong away.

Wojo's clueless on D.

Nothing more infuriating than watching inept defensive teams.

Wow. You might want to educate yourself a bit before commenting on how " clueless" he is on D.

Fischer should help a lot, enabling STJr. to move back to his normal position. But JJJ and Deonte just don't care about defense, and that's a problem.

madtownwarrior

Cluessless?   Tell me how many times Omaha scored within 6 seconds after a Marquette bucket.  I bet 25 times.

Yeah hopefully Fischer helps. Really no one cares about D much except probably Derrick. Steve is just disappointing.

We'll see. I was really optimistic for next year at least but jeez if we keep losing games like this idk if there will be enough improvement

Only bright side is our complete lack of D means we are not getting much foul trouble lol

The problem is we've got Buzz-type players in a Wojo system.  The transition will take a couple seasons.  Wojo will get more players who can shoot from the perimeter. All things in time.

The problem was on the other side of the ball.

Wondering if Wojo doesn't have personality to teach inner city players.

Unlike others, I didn't view this as racism at all.

Agreed.  We couldn't stop their up tempo or the rare times they were in the half court.  Sad that a lot of the D simply looked lackadaisical.

Boo, just Boo.  You attack both MU and the fan base, something you position to "care about".  Please take the N'ers out (though he at least tried to back opinion with facts, not just vile).

MU will be fine, WOJO will be fine, the fan base will remain supportive, i hope you aren't raising any kids.

My first 'ignore' goes to you.

"This should have been a win." Based on what? If you think MU should never lose a game it's supposed to win you're setting yourself up for major disappointment because it happens to EVERY program.

If that statement offends you, then your skin is about as thin as MU's roster right now.

Posted this in another thread but maybe it's better suited here.

In 2005, the triplets first year, we lost at home to Winthrop in our 2nd game of the year. We also lost to Nebraska by ten, who proceeded to go 7-9 in the big 12 and lose in the first round of the NIT. The following year we needed OT to beat Idaho State at home, then lost to North Dakota state. We all know how that season turned out.

I don't expect this team to improve to the extent that the 2005 team did, but we're a young, inexperienced team. It will get better. And if it doesn't, we still have next year.

The only reasonable measure of this team is how much they improve from now until February.
Should improve markedly considering where we are at right now.
