Buzz could relate to inner city kids better than any guy since Al. Down side was he could not coach a lick.

apparently everyone someone mentions rave it is racism?
Anyways teaching students from different backgrounds takes a different set of skills. You can white and still be a great teacher to inner city youth. Take Bruce pearl or Buzz for example. Bo, Wojo and others might have other qualities

Not everyone, just you

If this was said about a black coach coaching "kids from the suburbs" would you take it as racism? Don't bother answering.

Says the guy from Skokie...
I teach in Racine at a very inner city hs  doesn't matter that I am white. I have qualities that allow me to be effective with black youth

Yes I would .we v can't live in a post racial society without acknowledging difference in culture

I don't. I teach black students though. We talk about our racial differences at Racine Park andit helps

This is just incredibly ignorant.  You have NO IDEA how Wojo relates to kids of varying backgrounds.  For God's sake, he was on Coach K's staff for 15 years - I imagine he recruited plenty of kids from plenty of backgrounds.

The fact our defense was abysmal today has absolutely nothing to do with where any of our players are from.

Wondering if Wojo doesn't have personality to teach inner city players.

What??????

Post game comments for us out of towners??

Do not disagree with your comments. Just not as optimistic that Luke or more practice is going to help that much. Wojo correctly focused on D this past week and it looks like they went in reverse.

I'm certainly not expecting quick improvement, unfortunately.

Once Luke is eligible and we have a bit more size, rebounding and rim protection and Wojo has had time to get better I do expect to see some improvement.  If we are consistently allowing 55%+ FG percentage come February/March then I will have more long-term concerns.

On the bright side I don't expect to see any floor slapping anytime soon.

Wojo was pretty monotone in the postgame interview.  Typical spiel...... we need to do a better job of this and that.  No emotion at all.  Seemed exhausted.  I hope he's not in over his head, because he sure sounded like it.

Come on. Give me a break. Three games into the season and this drivel. He did not recruit these guys. Turn off your TV, this is going to be at best a .500 year.

GooooMarquette

I'm sure Duke never had any inner city players.

No chance for .500 with this defense.  MU has more talent.... way more talent.  Omaha is a division II team for crying out loud!  This game should have been a twenty point blowout.

Wojo Era

At least we won't see a new thread today about Wojo replacing Coach K.  I'm sure we will see it again soon, just not today.

Thank goodness we don't have a football team. Sometimes head coaches get hired late in the cycle and they have to work with 85 players they didn't recruit for their system that might not fit. Phew!

Tums Festival

Shame on the Marquette "fans" who are already giving up on Wojo after three games. Brent left us with a short, inexperienced and undermanned team. Lots of games left to play and this year is a work in progress for everyone, players and coaches alike.
