You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Put IU in the equation and the choice is easier, hey?

At some point, you have to make a transition from believer of the dream to buyer of the dream. No dream comes true w/o somebody paying for it.

Has anyone actually predicted that VT goes OVER .500?

When he left, his departure was relevant to Marquette basketball. Now that he's gone, his success, failure, or otherwise has no bearing on Marquette's success or failure. I fail to see how it's relevant in anyway to board. Put it in the Superbar if you guys want to argue with Chicos about Buzz.

I guess all I have to do is wait about six years and we'll stop bringing it up every day (the Crean posts have thinned out) but instead we'll just be reading about what Wojo is doing on the recruiting trail at Duke instead.

Goal is National Championship

Can't believe we're living in the land of F 452/1984/Animal Farm/Brave New World/Handmaid's Tale. When travel to Mars begins, expect Starship Troopers

Has anyone actually predicted that VT goes OVER .500?

February 2011 - after VA Tech upset # 1 Duke, Dickie V. predicted they'd win the ACC tournament handily and go on to win the NCAA Tournament in dominating fashion, finishing well above .500. But alas, it wasn't meant to be. Instead they advanced to the NIT where the they ran into the Wichita State Shockers, who upended the Hokies in the second round. The program had been in a downward spiral even since, until that fateful day in March when their savior was announced.

@GoodmanESPN: "@JRengstorf: @GoodmanESPN  Can Buzz finish above 500 in his first year at VaTech" Nope — even though its cupcake city in non-league slate.

I agree, I think and hope that the hokies will struggle

You know who LOVES this tweet?  Coach Bert Williams.   Terrible expectations are precisely what he wants.  Then he goes .500 and wins a couple big games and whammo, he's an f'ing genius again.

Again, you clicked on a thread that you clearly didn't want to see.  Your choice.  Don't complain about it.

+100000.  Why do people do this?   I mean, on a UW board they have time between filling the fry machine and flipping the nuggets, but here?   Please tell us you have something better to do than take time out of your day to post how you'd rather not see this thread after clicking on it.

I want to see all alumni of our program do well. coaches and players . Even though I was disappointed at what Buzz devolved to last year, would still like to see an ex coach fate well.

Finally a genuinely funny post.

I said when Buzz left and I stand by it, he will do well at Va. Tech and I wish him the best.  Va Tech will allow him to be "creative" that he wasn't going to get away with here any longer.  The jilted love actions here about a prior coach leaving, no thanks.  I'm more concerned about what he did at MU, the good and the bad....Buzz did some really good things here and he also did some crap that I and others are not happy with.  It is what it is.  He isn't here any longer, he'll do fine down South.

For a guy who wasn't wild about Buzz from the start this is a fair post. This is "good Chico" talking, and you have certainly said these things. Sadly, the vast majority of your posts on the topic have been made by "bad Chico" - have your guy do an audit.
