Press conference tomorrow in NYC. Rumors are a few matchups between teams at the MSG starting in 2015

Way to go Fox Sports.

Agreed. Way to take things away from ESPN and get eyes on your stuff.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

Excellent news. Has Val gotten the website finished to announce?

This is HUGE.

Also great to see us forming solid relationships with one of, if not the most, powerful football conference.

Sources on twitter saying 8 games a year. That's a lot more then I was expecting!

The Big Ten-Big East Gavitt Tipoff will be four days, eight games during first week of the season. http://bit.ly/1kCRL5u

TAMU, Knower of Ball

This is great news for the BEast. Do you think we get paired up with Wisconsin? Or will that rivalry be separate? This article seems to think they will use local rivals.

That makes the most sense of anything I've heard on twitter. I wonder, does this mean we will play IU now?

MuMark

Can't see our UW game being part of this.

ChicosBailBonds

ESPN is part of this, despite their on record mantra to destroy the Big East?

Glad none of the games are at MSG; not a fan of neutral site games. Season ticket holders pay good money and should get rewarded with these types of games.

MUDPT

We have an away game with tOSU left this season.

Geography makes a little sense.

MU-UW
DePaul- Illinois, NW
Creighton- Nebraska
Xavier- tOSU
Butler- I4, Purdue
Nova- Penn State
Georgetown- Maryland
Seton Hall, St. John's- Rutgers
Providence- ?

Speaking of match-ups, does the UW- Duke game assure us of having the UW game on 12/13?  Is Fischer available then?   I can't see Bo wanting to schedule, Thanksgiving tournament, Duke @ home and @ Marquette in a 2 week period.  But I think (especially next year) Bo would probably want a tougher non-conference schedule.

I'm gonna be livid if we don't get Rutgers.

I'm excited about this only as long as the Big East is competitive.  If it can't be, I don't want to get our butts handed to us every year.  This past year, it would have been ugly.  The Big East has to step things up a lot to make this a good series year in and year out.

@mikebroeker: Gavitt game with B10 when it starts in '15 will be in addition to our game with Wisconsin. #mubb

Good. I want to play Wisconsin every year and not have it be part of some other event. We can play another BT team. I'd love to play NW or Ill, but anyone but Bucky would be fine.

Big East Record vs. the Big Ten in 2013:
Butler: 1-0 (Purdue)
Creighton: 1-0 (Nebraska)
DePaul: 1-0 (Northwestern)
Georgetown: 1-0 (Michigan State)
Marquette: 0-2 (Ohio State, Wisconsin)
Providence: 0-0
Seton Hall: 1-0 (Rutgers)
St. John's: 0-2 (Penn State, Wisconsin)
Villanova: 1-0 (Iowa)
Xavier: 0-1 (Iowa)

So 6-5 this season, which isn't too bad, should be interesting at least.

Way to go Fox Sports.

The Big East has a deal on FS1 and (per Chicos) Fox owns 51% of the Big Ten Network.

The other problem I see is that the Big Ten gets much better visibility by playing in the BE home cities than vice versa.

Its not like the Big East teams will gain much through visits to destination like Lincoln, Urbana, or West Lafayette. Meanwhile, the Big Ten will get to add marquee destinations in talent-rich markets like Chicago, Indianapolis and New York.

Couldn't disagree more.  Visibility is about eyeballs on screens.  These games will help the Big East (and the Big Ten).

warriorchick

Wonder if I4 will still be around by the 15-16 season.
Have some patience, FFS.

GGGG

I don't see any downside to this.  It does reinforce the B10's desire to grow their brand in the northeast but that really isn't a problem for the BE.

I thought the Big East was playing Big Ten, so it's the SEC.
