Why, when someone doesn't like a thread, do they ask mods to lock or remove it?

It's a freakin' post on a fan chat site. It's not supposed to solve world problems.

I agree that it's silly to have a Top 25 in April for the following season. But I don't see the need to censor anybody who chooses to discuss it.

Yep, I admit I didn't get the sarcasm, and I'm usually pretty good at both getting and giving it.

It isn't all that unusual for somebody to demand that a thread get locked or moved if it's a subject they don't like.
