First, strange things happen.  Not many saw Buzz leaving to go to VaTech.  Second, you may be correct, than you tell me of a current major college coach at a major conference that might view the MU job as appealing?

Answer is all of them find it appealing.  But they have to judge it against their current situation.  How many want to leave?  Answer very few right now.

Maybe at that point in time he wasn't ready to come home just yet and now he is ready.   You never know.  Some leave their home and never come back.  Some leave and come back quickly and some leave and after a decent time away eventually come back home.

I doubt the validity of the rumor so I am not holding out hope, just saying he fits the description better than most.

Grew up with TB.  Has said that UW is his dream job and would never quit MU for UW.  Too much respect for MU and its fan base.  That is first hand fact.

CO, would you crap your trousers if it were Mike Brey?

Might as well bring back LW while we are at it.

Ha, Digger could take Wainwright's spot too.

But someone contacted MU, so they have the desire to leave their current situation and value MU.

Doubt Tony would consider MU since there was and probably still is some bitterness in not offerin' his father, who was at UW-Green Bay, after KO bolted.

When a Mike Deane is waiting to dance you can hardly refuse. Bennett is a smart man and should appreciate Marquette's decision. If he cannot, well then, he's not the man to steward our beloved Warriors.

Just because a high major coach is interested, and even a highly successful high major coach, it does not mean we want them.

If Iowa State's Fred Hoiberg was interested?  Are we?  He managed to get to a three seed with transfers, jocos and other "problem children."  Does that fit our mission?

I would not consider Iowa State's Fred Hoiberg a high major coach.  Think bigger school, bigger name. Also, we are very interested.

But if he doesn't foresee receiving an offer from Wisconsin, does MU come into play.  Just saying.

If there's mutual interest, do we have to wait for this guy's team to finish their season?

Yes, but I don't have the answer.  If I did I would tell you.  Looking for credible possibilities.

Oh, this is fun!

Shaka Smart?
Gregg Marshall?
Mike Brey (gulp)?
Dare I say... Tom Crean?

Bruce Weber?
Weber wanted the job when Crean left. Would've left Illinois to take it. He's a peripheral McGuire disciple.

I don't know about everybody else, but I'm not a Marshall fan. I don't like the cut of his jib.

Tums Festival

There are a few posts on Twitter saying a Kansas U. writer (no name given) has said Bruce Weber has interest.
"Every day ends with a Tums festival!"

Twitter is also saying weber is a consideration.... Folks here in chicago were not big fans of his  a few years back when he bombed out at Illinois. Not sure if he'd be better than howland or not?

Josh Pastner?
Jamie Dixon?

Both on my original list. My only question on Dixon is he is very close to Howland, would he take a job he knows his mentor wants?

I was wondering about Richard Pitino. What is his contract like?

NickelDimer

Give me Howland, Smart or Marshall over Weber.  But if we're throwing anyone and everyone out there, I'll take Sean Miller

Would he really leave Louisville right as they are about to join the ACC?
