I have a lot of friends who are Georgetown grads and they say their decision-makers want east coast. I have no idea how that plays out but it seems GU places a high priority on location.

I remember Gtown specifically wanting Richmond for the East-Midwest balance, evidenced by their alleged dismay that Creighton was taking the 10th spot.

Dayton leads Ohio at halftime 33-30

Out of curiosity, besides VCU & Richmond are there other candidates to possibly consider that are located in the Northeast?  Candidates to consider only maybe because of city location, TV market size or some other besides Georgetown likes them reason?

IIRC, the dropoff after those two is steep, like Siena steep.

Richmond has a very good FCS level football program that would fit well with Georgetown, Villanova, and Butler.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Man, all the Dayton hatred on this board must be talking to themselves. Dayton has outscored what MU did in about 22 min.

Would love to further solidify our foothold in the northeast, especially seeing the importance of that during the tournament last week.  The biggest issue is we'd be talking St. Joe's (redundant) or BU (not good).  Rather have either over Dayton though.

St. Joe's isn't just about redundancy.  It's about Villanova not wanting to let a local competitor get Big East level resources.

Maybe Dusquene, just for getting into the Pittsburgh area? Davidson down in North Carolina?

I really wish we could convince Fordham to put some of their resources into basketball.  Do they have FCS football?

Or if we could somehow convince Holy Cross or Detroit to re-commit to basketball

However, I don't see any of this happening, at least, not anytime soon.

I don't like Siena or LeMoyne because they don't bring anything in terms of TV markets, recruiting grounds, etc.

Both are big also-rans in their markets.  Would Fox be willing to dilute the product?  Add either, and you're talking about the amount of TV money going to each school going in the wrong direction.

If you can add the 5th most popular team in North Carolina, you do it!   ::)

Yes, Fordham has FCS football. I agree, if they would put resources into their hoops program they would be a very good candidate. All they would be now is a buddy for DePaul at the bottom of the standings.

Fordham just pumped a bunch of money and resources into their Basketball program in 2010.  While a turnaround wasn't going to happen overnight, I'd assume they aren't happy with their ROI thus far.

I'm not sure how I feel about Davidson, but I would L-O-V-E if somehow the ACC broke-up and we could take Wake.

I also would be happy taking Notre Dame back for Basketball and the O sports

EDIT: Didn't realize ambiguity in link's address.  Link is Mac talking about the C7 scooping up Wake and the potential benefits from Wake's perspective

And LeMoyne is Division II.

Their football team had more wins (12) than their basketball team (10).

Who are you talking about?  Those records don't fit Wake, ND, or Davidson.
