MU should turn down NIT invite
« on: March 13, 2014, 10:40:41 PM »
No point in it.

Buzz will play the same guys that got them in this mess, and that group (other than Burton) is no fun to watch.

Just end this nonsense now and move on to next season.

Wrong.  Besides, this game isn't over yet.  If we lose, you're still wrong.

It's over.

Xavier isn't even that good, but it's over.

Normally, there is benefit to playing an extended season to get more time for the younger players.  However, that won't happen. We'll just get more of the same old, same old, and likely lose to a team beneath us on the food chain.  Just end this mess, put in the rear view mirror and forget it as quickly as possible...

You want to get your team more reps, tournament style play.  Good experience.  You accept and you play.

NIT - there's a bunch of teams in major conferences pretty much identical to us.  You absolutely play it.  CBI, not so much.

If MU plays in the NIT, Buzz shouldn't be allowed to play Anderson, Thomas, or any of the Wilsons.  Let the young kids play.

Dumb post. I remember the NIT in 2004. Actually wasn't a half bad time. Nobody turns down the NIT anyways...not even Kentucky.

If the freshman would get major minutes, then I'd agree.

But to watch D. Wilson and Jamil and Jake again...no point.

God, this won't be any better next year, either.

It's been said a million times, but this season has been a disappointment in terms of coaching and player development.  Why not play for the future when we have nothing to play for this season?  No one cares who wins the NIT.  Play JJJ and Burton and give them time to develop.  NIT is a perfect time for this.
