I've never met a "Greg" that I've liked.
Clearly you've never seen this:

I think the NIT is important for the Big East. We need all of our teams to do well in NIT. The league would be a joke, if the three or four Big East teams all lost in first round. The one way to prove the Big East was worthy of 6 NCAA bids is to get two teams in the NIT final four. You have to remember teams may have to play on an opposing team's home court, which makes it a tougher game than some NCAA tournament games.

Can't find the logic there.

Because if you reach the NIT final four you are considered better than many of the automatic qualifiers that make the NCAA tourney (14, 15 and 16 seeds).

Maybe quit giving our starting backcourt so many minutes. That was the biggest reason for 17-15. And it didn't change one bit the entire season even though we knew 5 games in it wasn't going to get the job done.

Maybe not giving Juan more minutes in the 2nd half of the BE season than the 1st half - keeping Burton on the bench.

Ding ding ding...all kinds of things were tried....other than 1 very obvious thing to AT LEAST TRY...FOR 3-4 GAMES.

Prepare your rebuttal for the following

"Coaches don't think this [pragmatically] way"

Still don't understand how that would show we were worthy of 6 bids.

Six bids - are people here crazy or what?

No point in it.

Buzz will play the same guys that got them in this mess, and that group (other than Burton) is no fun to watch.

Just end this nonsense now and move on to next season.

I have a better idea. Why don't we go to the NIT and you have a his say fit about it and not watch.

I agree six is over the top, but I think that was his thought process.  I don't think this conference deserves more than two.

My question to you is: if we were to win the NIT, how would you feel about raising that banner? Proud? Embarrassed? Indifferent?

I'm encouraged that he started Burton tonight, it's a start...even if the season is 98% over.

Agree. Slow to changing starters but finally seeing a little light. Let's hope for more changes in NIT.

This thread is just stupid. We played terribly all year and would be lucky to still be playing in mid-March anywhere they'll let us.

Oh, and you're gonna tell me that you wouldn't watch MU take on Too Tan Tommy? Or Georgetown again? Or Illinois?

Give me a break, you fair weathered clowns.

It's been said a million times, but this season has been a disappointment in terms of coaching and player development.  Why not play for the future when we have nothing to play for this season?  No one cares who wins the NIT.  Play JJJ and Burton and give them time to develop.  NIT is a perfect time for this.

+1.  It's an "ok, that's nice" to be in the field, but no one cares about how teams actually do in a quest to become the tallest midget.  Half the teams stink, half aren't trying very hard.  Get the young guys some reps and have some fun with it.

Of course, everyone would prefer to be in the NCAA tourney, but an extended run in the NIT if you can make one would still be fun. The NIT of course is a bit of a downer initially, but for the teams that can make that run to the final four of the NIT and get back to MSG, I would think that is a pretty cool and worthwhile experience.

The current NIT bracketology has Davidson going.
And of course Indiana.
Since we're going I'm hoping for a matchup with a little intrigue.
