Butler out with a one-point loss to DePaul.

Who'd have thought that Butler would look this bad? Losing Stevens was big but there were enough players and the "Butler Way" to see them through.

Yikes.

Um, I believe you mean Seton Hall, not DePaul.
Have some patience, FFS.

bradley center bat

Ya, big difference between Seton Hall and DePaul.

Two things, they lost Rosevelt Jones to injury for the entire season...that hurt a weak team.

Second, I think it testifies to how good the conference is.  OOC they went and beat a decent princeton team, Washington State and Purdue.  They lost in OT to LSU and by 2 to Oklahoma St. They would have been competitive in most leagues but were a bottom feeder in the BE.

I'm feeling the S16.  That's what Buzz does when he goes 9-9 in conf.

Probably a good bet, but according to the progression we have seen over the past 3 years its only "rational" to assume a Final Four appearance.

I mean UCONN had an unexpected 11 game run to win the Big East and NCAA tourneys and they were 9-9 in conference...of course ignore the fact that they had one of the best PGs in the country as well as no losses outside of conference among many other factors.

RushmoreAcademy

GTown looking pretty poor against DePaul right now.
Actually both teams just firing up bricks.

WayOfTheWarrior

Yeah, this game is on pace to be in the low 50s right now. I hope G-Town will turn it on in the second half...at least for our sake. It will be a cold day in hell when the Blue Demons beat the Blue Jays.

Man...if GTown goes down to DePaul....think they really played themselves off the bubble...even with some of their quality wins.  Not a good development for Big East if they go down...and Xavier very well could lose to us tomorrow...which could put them toward the back of the field/bubble...still feel St. John's gets in and they could end up being the 3rd and last team from Big East to get in if GTown blows it tonight and Xavier tomorrow..
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

DePaul up eight at the under four. Holy hell.

DePaul doing everything they can to give the game away

Well, this really screws us.....if we can even beat Xavier.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

Yup, really needed Georgetown to knock off Creighton for us, if we get that far

mugrack

Tough to beat any college b ball team 3 times in a year.  No way MU beats Georgetown 3 times in a season, no matter how bad JT 3 is in the post season.

ChitownSpaceForRent

I mean, we were going to have to beat a good team no matter what...Its like you expected GTown to beat Creighton which I had not confidence in. I think were a better team than GTown. Good for Depaul, Garrett and Hamilton are good for their teams future.

This. Everybody scoffed at me when I said that earlier. Coaches make adjustments. Not the GTown beats MU fact but it really is tough to beat a team 3 times in a season.

Someone should remind Georgetown it is not the NCAA tournament yet... they don't have to go out in the first round.   ;)

ChicosBailBonds

So much for G'Town knocking Creighton off for us

If we beat X, what do you wager that CU beats us by a larger margin than either of our other two meetings this season?

CreightonWarrior

Rooting for you guys tomorrow, hopefully we see you on Friday!

WayOfTheWarrior

"And Depaul knocks off Georgetown for the first time in two decades"

....really? *face palm*

Well maybe Garrett can put up 30 points against the Jays...still wouldn't matter.
