Moving on...

If you are looking for optimism, I actually think today's loss to SJU may be a positive in terms of MU's potential matchups in the BET. To me Xavier or Providence is a toss up. The regular season results seem to bear that out, and I actually prefer the match-up with Xavier.

Now, if they manage to win that first one, ask yourself this, which team has the better opportunity of upsetting the higher seed, Georgetown (yes i am counting out DePaul) vs. Creighton, or Seton Hall/ Butler vs. Villanova? For me that one's not even close. So I think there is at least a chance that Crighton could get knocked out.

I don't see MU winning it, or even playing Saturday night necessarily, but the way this Big east season has gone, I guess not much would surprise me. I think Villanova is a heavy favorite, but it opens up a lot from there.

Can't wait to watch every game! Gus, Raft and EA in primetime!

Conference tourney time is my favorite time of the year.     MU needs to catch all of the breaks they have been missing.

Exactly.  Not that they will, though.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

No, this year's version reminds me of the Detroit Lions.   Close to good enough, unable to make the big play or big stop, frustrating their fanbase to no end.

Unfortunately, I see a one and done in the BET.

I would take the Rick SLU program right now.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them play well. I think they could beat any team in the conference other than Creighton.

A defensive game plan to make them shoot three's is not going to work. Ever. And I don't see Buzz changing from what he did the first two times.

A little food for thought on the conference...

Have to admit I am starting to look forward to the BET. Balanced league, great venue, and at least as far as I can see on Twitter, I expect FS1 to do a very good job.

So who is everyone picking today?  I've got Butler and G'Town moving on.

Who would have ever thought at the beginning of the season there'd be a Big East Tourney preview with no mention of Marquette?? Obviously been a struggle, but reading this just made it hit home again.

Better days ahead. Go Warriors, go Buzz.

Wow! 30% of tickets for the championship game are unsold. Ouch.

Fwiw, the hottest ticket every year isn't the Championship, but instead are the semi's on Friday night.  Twice as many fans/teams involved.  Besides last year's historic Cuse-Lou final (where I tix in advance), I've gotten into the championship (good seats) for way way less than face.  Fans generally don't want to commit to a Sat night in NY unless they know their team is playing.

Curious how the ticket numbers compare to past years and to projections. We had 6 more teams last year, so an 11% drop in tickets sold doesn't sound too bad to me.

And how many title game tickets are usually sold at this point vs. get picked up by fans once their team makes it?

In recent past years, the BET was entirely sold-out to the school allotments.  They never went onsale to the general.  The Big East recognized that having 5-6 fewer schools (and no Cuse/Uconn) selling out MSG wasn't going to happen just through allotments... so they correctly put them up for sale to the general public.

Dougie Buckets on the SI cover this week.  Nice job and good BE exposure.

If MU goes on a nice this weekend a grabs the auto-bid, what's your best guess for a seed at 20-14. I'm going 10.

I had the same thought, unless it involved MU beating both Creighton and Nova.  All wishful thinking, but stranger things have happened.

I'd like to be a 12, beat the 5, and go to the Elite 8 from there.

Butler out with a one-point loss to DePaul.

Who'd have thought that Butler would look this bad? Losing Stevens was big but there were enough players and the "Butler Way" to see them through.

Yikes.

I'm feeling the S16.  That's what Buzz does when he goes 9-9 in conf.
