I truly believe that if Buzz had unleashed the freshmen we would be in the NCAA tournament. Deonte has the skills and personality that could carry this team. Dawson is simply an upgrade from D. Wilson. JJJ couldve stretched the floor and provided much needed athletism. Bottom line is that we have D-1 talent but they were mostly on the bench.
Oh, hey, you.

Its early but if Seton hall pulls the upset on Villanova, that double OT loss to St. Johns would sting a bit more.
No, it would make our path easier.

I agree, but the way I see it we were going to have to beat one of Villanova and Creighton at least in order to win the BET

Lot of time left but this just proves my point how difficult it is to beat a team 3 times in a season. I would hardly call GTown/Depaul and Seton Hall/Nova an even matchup...

The adage says "it's a guard's game."

SHU (Sina, Edwin, Oliver) and Nova (Archie, Hilliard, Bell) both start 3 guys listed as guards.  Right now, SHU's guards are a combined 3-18, and Nova's are a combined 1-17.  Ouch!

BE deserves at least 5 bids if not more.  Lots of quality teams in the conference and really don't get the recognition for that it deserves.  people calling it a 3 bid league are absolutely clueless.

Eh, it's one game. Seton Hall is a pretty good team when healthy, and they looked really good last night (other than at the end). The 3-times theory could apply here, but there are a ton of other reasons as to why Nova is losing to SHU at this point in the game.

Following the game on espn on my phone. Check out what it says on the front page. Calling the BE tourney the American tourney? They refuse to acknowledge the big east.

Agree Big East isn't getting its due respect.  Sure it isn't old Big East....but other than DePaul...there aren't weak teams in the conference top to bottom...when Seton Hall is full strength.  I mean GTown finishing 7th with its out of conference record??  Then again, MU finished ahead of GTown in Big East and flamed out in out of conference play.  But no way A-10 deserves more bids than Big East no matter how you slice it..

Huh.

They're are two quality teams in this league. Below that is a bunch of mediocrity. 4 would be the max this league deserves this year.

I couldn't disagree more.  A good starting point would be Georgetown.  They finished 7th in the league and had they been in the American of A-10 would have EASILY made the tournament.  I fear that our league is being punished by its sheer depth.  We have a legit conference and aren't gaming it with a few top tier teams and the rest bottom feeders (cough) AAC (cough).  To be real, GT, Xavier, Providence, STJ would all be challenging for the A-10 title, let alone a NCAA bid.

His two turnovers (pass to himself and getting stripped) in last two minutes hurt them.

But man, Gibbs with a make at the buzzer.  Good for the Hall.  Bad for NOVA.  Great game.

Can Depaul do us a favor and do the same to Creighton.

Honestly would be the best thing for the league to have Nova and Creighton go down early.

Wow.

Hopefully Creighton and St. John's get beat as well prior to our game tonight.

Side note - MSG looked packed to the rafters - which was great to see...obviously lots of Nova fans made trip..but hope to see the event very well attended for semi-finals and final...as it points toward MSG continuing to be a viable venue for the event..

Part of me wants Creighton to lay an egg against DePaul to make it that much easier for us to have a shot.  But the other part of me wants Creighton again...I think we can take them on one day's rest (for them and us).

First things first...let's get up early on Xavier and cruise to a solid win.
