He isn't the only one who has compared Nick to Koenig...
Nick Noskowiak (6'2", 2015 PG, Wisconsin Playground Warriors 16U)

Playing for the 16U Wisconsin Playground Warriors, Noskowiak got people talking after leading a come from behind victory over the athletic Illinois Celtics. With a game similar to Bronson Koenig, Noskowiak showed off an impressive feel for the game all weekend long. After leading the 16U team to a victory Saturday morning he jumped up a class to play for the 17U Warriors team in a hard-fought overtime loss to All-Ohio. Noskowiak nailed threes on a regular basis, hit the open man, and played the game with some flair. On Sunday morning, he battled the Saint Louis Eagles all the way till the end hitting three pointers from all sides of the court while also aggressively attacking the basket for contested lay-ups or trips to the free throw line to the tune of 23 points. Noskowiak handled the ball well under pressure and showed the ability to attack in one on one situations as well as the pick and roll. Besides for Jayson Tatum, Nick Noskowiak impressed the most in the 16U age group.

Yes, but he's Caucasian, so he must not be athletic at all.

Why must we?   The one most likely to bite is on a self-imposed hiatus.   Stay classier.

He's not athletic, but he might be sneaky-athletic.
And he'll obviously be a hard-nosed, scrappy gamer and gym rat.

Coaches Kid,  Decided to become the school janitor so he could get keys to the gym, smart player,  heady, lets the game come to him, doesnt make mistake, manages games, gets everyone involved.  Did I miss any?

Kind of another way to say it: "he's the first one to get in every morning and the last one to leave".

I can never figure out how that somehow that applies to everyone, unless every player arrives and leaves on the same bus.

Can we compare him to the immortal Aaron Craft yet?

I think we can skip Craft and move right up to Greg Paulus/Steve Wojciechowski comparisons.

This kid has a nice shot, but I don't think he is anywhere near athletic or quick enough to pay at the high D-1 level.

Probably a good thing he has a scholly then if he cant pay at a D1 level.  Especially at a private university.

A lot of scouts that are paid to analyze hs players strongly disagree with your assessment.
Assume what I say should be in teal if it doesn't pass the smell test for you.

21 looked pretty good in those highlights - lefty, long, good hops, appeared to be about 6'7"....wonder what year he is, and if anyone recruiting..

Didn't watch the vid in this post, but you're probably speaking on Darrlyn Willis. He's a 2014. May go to a MM. He absolutely has the look - has for years. Hope he finds a good program and puts it all together.. at a minimum, long rebounder in college, but you still hold out hope he could be a breakout player at the right school.

He led Madison Memorial to a win over Nick the other night.

Like others from WI have, he played with The Family in EYBL some this summer... rebounding numbers were solid (13% OR, 19.5% DR).. rough shooting (41.1% eFG.. but 2/3 3FG!).. has trouble with fouls.

Also runs with the Rebels (Kevon, Damontrae, etc.).

Again, MM is probably the right place for him.. LM/MM's with interest.. been watching him for awhile to see if he can turn a corner..

The portal is NOT closed.

Nick looks like a grinder. A dude you want on your team. No showboat, all grit.

He could've settled on. J in a few of those highlights but he took it to the rack with confidence and intent (to draw contact). Future looks brighter with him!

Willis looks like a decent prospect.

If he can hit a jumper then we want him it doesn't matter what color or race he is.
We need an outside game(some gunners) to go along with all our athletes (slashers).

Thanks JayBee - good info.  Will be interested to see where Willis ends up - looks to have some good tools...

All that is good except  a player also still needs athletic ability to compete in the upper tier of D-1.  Look at Jake, he has many good attributes, but at the end of the day he is very limited athletically. Derek has the athletic ability but none of the basketball IQ stuff. A player really needs both athletics and basketball IQ. That is why  a kid like DJO was such a success.

MuMark

There are lots of success stories of guys who were very good players who weren't great athletes.....Travis Diener and Steve Novak just to name 2.

bilsu

Athleticism can be overrated. It is all on how a player channels it. The fact is that we do not know if Duane Wilson will ever be healthy enough to play. Is this a one time injury like Cadougan had or will he have a multiple injury career like Kinsella or Otule. Besides that Wilson is a shooting guard converted to point, while I believe Nick is a true point.

Not sure I would characterize either as not being great athletes. Both got paid to play. Diener could have gone pro in baseball, too.
