Diener was not strong, quick or jump high when compared to most other high d-1 players. Ditto for Novak.

They played professionally because of their great skill not their athleticsm....they were both breat players...that does not make them great athletes...that is the point.

ps. Diener was a pitcher.....not sure if he was good enough to be a major leaguer but being able to throw a baseball doesn't make you a great athlete.

Not sure I would characterize either as not being great athletes. Both got paid to play. Diener could have gone pro in baseball, too.

I think Murf said he was a dime a dozen baseball player.

Nope  dime a dozen point guard.   No one would remember dime a dozen pitcher.

And in murf's defense he had admitted he was wrong (a rarity.)

Diener was not a bad athlete at all. He had a quick first step and he was amazingly strong for a kid who was about 110 pounds dripping wet! Once he got to the NBA, he wasn't nearly as athletic in comparison to his new peers and the rest of his skills weren't good enough to let him have a long career at the top level. But as a collegian, plenty athletic enough.

Speaking of which, why the hell doesn't the Red Baron post here? Is he still hangin' at Dodds' Death Valley?

I cut my teeth on MU basketball boards arguing with Murf about Travis.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

It was dime a dozen point guard, no doubt.

Seems he'll pop up on here about once a year.   He stirs that old pot up that's for sure.
