CO can cut it to 6.  Keep up the D.

I like that Juan wasn't afraid to take that 3
If you think for one second that I am comparing the USA to China you have bumped your hard.

Like this late game play.  Even if we lose hope isn't lost.  Expectations this season were too high.  We're missing Mayo, Duane all season, Steve is a disappointment, lost 3 starters and our star player.  Even when these blue blood schools bring in multiple top 10 players every year they can struggle.  Look at UNC in the NIT just recently.  We're not used to this.

Lucky to be a .500 team in the Big East?  I can't stand the Badgers but they are playing very well this season.  Let's not forget we are playing the number 8 team in the nation in their own gym.

NavinRJohnson

Looks like we'll be playing Florida in the NIT, huh? At the under 4min TO, they were losing 54-48. Seems kinda familiar, huh?

BTW, anyone who wants to show me the big wins on their schedule, I'm all ears. They going to the NIT?

Otule's Glass Eye

Jamil with a huge three! Only down three now!

you really think this the #8 team in the nation?

I guess that makes SDSU and ASU the #9 and #10 teams in the nation...

It's awfully concerning that our little run in the waning minutes has come without the Ox.  Dude had an attitude problem all game.

Regarding athleticism, UW is arguably more athletic or at least as athletic as we are. They've had great athletes for awhile in their program. Unfortunately, if you have white skin, too often people think you are not athletic. Along with that, Bo's players can all shoot, put the ball on the floor and pass. They don't beat themselves very often. They take care of the ball and work as a team. When you shoot the ball well, it really spreads the floor, opens lanes and creates so much. We don't have guys that can shoot it. Therefore, teams can emphasize taking away our penetration.

Think of the starting five today:

O'Tule = non-athletic (non-shooter)
D.Wilson = average athlete (streaky shooter)
Thomas - below average athlete (can't even get a shot off - streaky at best)
J. Wilson = great athlete (streaky shooter)
Anderson = good athlete (below average shooter)

Kaminski = more athletic than O'Tule but very average (good shooter)
Sam Dekker - possibly the athlete on the floor - very athletic
Jackson = above average athlete (good shooter)
Gasser = average athlete (good shooter)
Brust = average athlete (lights out shooter)

If we would have Mayo (with his head screwed on right) and (a healthy) Duane Wilson in our backcourt, I think we could beat anyone. Only time will tell.

We actually ran a play for a perimeter player.  Set screens to set Thomas up...they have to send help defenders to stop him leaving Wilson open for a 3.

We need more offensive sets like that for perimeter players.  We don't have the players on the roster period to create for themselves.

4everwarriors

Yep, I think their rankin' is justified.

Don't let facts like AP ranking, ESPN ranking, RPI ranking, etc. get in the way of your obsession with hating on MU.

UW is much better than ASU and a little bit better than SDSU

If they're not, you need the teams that are clearly better.

Good game, glad we kept it relatively close.

Where would you place them?  Are they not a top 10? Top 15? Top 20?

We have plenty of perimeter players that can shoot if we set them up properly.  We do a very poor job of that this year.  Our offense isn't set up that way, whereas it has in previous seasons (aka Acker/Cubilan year).

This year we are set up to try to exploit the post and the whole offense is designed to probe the perimeter while running plays to open up post players.

No picks for perimeter players, perimeter players are setting picks for posts.

Buzz always tries to adapt the offense to his strengths (this year post players), but he needs a little more offense to set up the perimeter to keep defenses honest.
