Mary Kay Latourneau's father was Congressman John Schmitz, R-CA. Schmitz is a Marquette grad and represented Chico's district in Orange County. Schmitz was an Aviation Marine Colonel and the American Party Candidate for President in 1972. Col. Schmitz is buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

He was in the 35th District which back then was part of Orange County and San Diego County.  Things have changed so much here in this state now that I don't even know if back then if all of the O.C. was part of that district.  Today the 35th is way different....Inglewood, Hawthorne, Lawndale...a different world.

Arizona State = proof that weather and girls are way overrated as factors in recruiting.

Pac 12 South football champions (as of last night) may disagree with you.

They have for many many years.  They haven't won the whole thing in probably 30+ years, but they still field good teams, make the the NCAAs, occasionally get into the CWS.  I think only USC has put more guys into the major leagues.

Why didn't anyone tell that poor girl that her shirt was unbuttoned?  That's just mean....
Have some patience, FFS.

Chick,

I tried to find you some author beefcake, but the only author I found was from the peroxide bottle who wrote "Legally Blonde".

Those buttons were overmatched; her wardrobe malfunction was inevitable.

Sadly, famous authors tend to look more like Stephen King or Tom Clancy than John Irving.

Three football conference championships in 35 years.
No first round NFL draft picks since 2003.
Four NCAA Tournament appearances in 30 years.
Three NBA first round picks. Ever.

Yep, they're swimming in elite talent down there.

ASU students have other talents (see photos in thread).

Have we confirmed they aren't getting good recruits? It would take heroic will power for an 18 year old kid to avoid the distractions that exist on that campus...I could see how they would lose focus on school/basketball/football pretty easily.

It was obviously intentional, and obviously intended to draw attention to herself.

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Sadly/gladly, ASU is known for its film making rather than its literature.

They've landed three RSCI top 50 players since 1999. And four others rated 51-100. So, seven top 100 players in 14 years.

Judging by a few of the pictures posted here, they do have elite talent, maybe just not in athletics.

Just remember this:

In retrospect, it's becoming clearer to me how Trent was able to "score" at ASU, but not at MU.

And they've sent more baseball players to the Bigs than MU has Bball players to the NBA. Some are in the Hall of Fame, several were Season and Series MVPs, and many were All Stars. So what's your point?

I don't disagree with you over history, but they have a little something going right now on the football side...that was all.  Baseball they have been solid for many years.
