Think it'll fetch the $30 million it's supposed to get?

Nope, that is so far over even luxury housing prices in the Chicago (I think the record for the northern burbs is around 13-14mm), and honestly, the place looks a bit dated.

That being said, its a pretty cool property and its freaking MJ's legendary crib, I'd imagine it will go to a developer who will spend some coin updating and changing a few things and still trying to get $20mm for it.

This I know is picky, but I always thought the location was a little strange.

Maybe that's the only place close enough to get that much land?

It's actually a decent location, outside of the freight rail on the eastside of the property.

Not far from Deerfield (Berto Center), extremely easy access to 94 (where his Mercedes would pass you on the shoulder), right off 41 which gives you access to everything on the north shore, and property is extremely secluded despite being in the middle of everything.

That makes a lot of sense.  I guess I just found it odd that it was so close to highways and rail lines.

Back in the day, I actually had to deliver something to Jane Pettit's house in River Hills.  That was pretty much similarly located.  Right off Brown Deer Road not far from I-43.

If you watch the video some of the aerial views show how the trees create a lot of privacy. I thought the location odd as well when considering the highway and busy roads.

For those who know the Milwaukee area, at a smaller scale the Reiman home and compound is in an analogous location, with major roads right around it.

LeBron's home in the Akron area is similar.  I think easy access to the places they want to go is a key factor in these homes.
Never wrestle with a pig.  You both get dirty, and the pig likes it.

IIRC, MJeff bought something like 9 of the 12 lots in that development to give him privacy.

Nothing like trying to unload the biggest house in a neighborhood....

I actually got a chance to see that monster being built.  One of my best buds was the AD at Akron at the time and he lived about 3 blocks from Lebron's pad.  We went over there when it was under construction.  Insane.
