You realize in Chicago, no one considers the Brewers a rival.  All hate is directed down south to the Cardinals.

You guys call people from Illinois "fibs".  Illinois people don't have a name for Wisconsinites.

Aside from the Packers, Chicago people don't think twice about any Wisconsin teams.

Gosh, for not thinking twice, they sure do feel the need to constantly tell us things like how they don't think twice about Wisconsin teams.

Don't get me wrong, I hate all Wisconsin teams (EDIT: except Marquette) after living in Milwaukee for school.  It is a rivalry for me.

The majority of Illinois people who didn't live in Wisconsin couldn't care less.

The Brewers fans are the worst baseball fans...not because of their intensity, lack of support, or obnoxiousness, but for their over propensity to only have to go to the bathroom during an inning.  Good lord, does the entire state have bladder infections?
Went to Wrigley a few years back. Yovanni runs to cover first base , gets tangled with runner and falls to the grass clutching his blown out knee.
Hundreds of Cubs fans cheered.
After 15 min when Yo got up, same hundreds of fans booed.

You're right dr. Bathroom breaks are much worse.  ::)

Went to Miller Park a few years back and was walking back to campus and had a car full of Brewer fans throw a beer bottle at my friends and I since we were wearing Cubs gear.

What's your point?  All teams have moron fans.

They drink so much beer that they break the seal and we all know what happens once you break the seal

You get up and block my view from my seat on the first pitch of the inning instead of getting up 10 seconds earlier?

That's because the only rivalry that has been all that important is the Packers and Bears.

Because when both teams are so bad it is more fun to knock each other...

All kidding aside, both fans bases are great.  Both baseball stadiums are fun to attend.  If only the Brewers fans could get up between innings.  Some Cubs fans do enjoy watching the game, no matter how bad the ex-Brewer alumni was at managing the Cubs.  ;D

I will agree people do not sit down in Miller Park. I feel like the bigger rows make it more inviting to make people move.

As a Brewer season ticket holder with seats on the aisle, I could not agree more.  Unfortunately, you get half the row's traffic being on the aisle; but at least I can move in and out of my seat any time I want without getting in anyone's sightline.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny.  Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.

Oh, so Chicagoans have an inferiority complex to St. Louis citizens then. Because they hope the Cardinals lose every game. Got it.

Or wait, could it be called being a sports fan?

So any city that has a sports team with a rival of another city and wants that other city's team to lose every game has an inferiority complex to that city? Interesting perspective.

Big ol' Chicago has an inferiority complex to tiny lil Green Bay. That's funny.

But wait, it's only when it's Milwaukee fans hating on Chicago sports teams. Chicagoans don't care if the Brewers win 115 games and win the World Series. They're happy being 105 years and counting without those. And they don't care if the Bucks win the Central Division and break the Bulls single season win record in rout to a NBA Championship. They wouldn't even blink. Nobody other than Milwaukeeans root against teams within their own divisions.

Also nobody needs to tell me the Brewers aren't the Cubs biggest rival. Why would they be? They've been in the same division much shorter and have had far less success than the Cardinals. It's not like Brewers fans hope to see the Cardinals succeed and the Cubs suck. The Cardinals are FAR AND AWAY my most hated team. The Cubs are beyond irrelevant. The only reason I hope they suck is because they are in the same division as the Brewers. Why would I want anyone other than the Brewers to have success in the Central? Not sure how a Cubs fan could be happy with other teams being better than they are. That means their team didn't do as well.  If there was an inferiority complex then Brewers fans would hate the White Sox just as much as they hate the Cubs. I couldn't care less about the White Sox.

The only added benefit to seeing the Cubs fail is because their fans are completely ignorant. Every year for 105 years next year is their year, no matter how bad they are. And they walk around claiming other teams have an inferiority complex. Heh. I'm hoping the Crew can go 105 years without a World Series baby! They remind me of the Vikings fans in that sense. They think they have God's gift to baseball, yet they continually suck. For a fan base who claims to not give a second thought to the Brewers, they sure do talk a lot about the inferiority complex Brewers fans have and their trips to "Wrigley North." It's cute though. At least Brewers fans are willing to admit they hate the Cubs. Cubs fans tell themselves they don't hate the Brewers. Too good for those losers! Hah. Coming from the lovable losers...

Most Wisconsinites I know love Chicago.  And Chicagoans.  They just don't like their sports teams...you know...cause they are rivals.

What Rivals? Outside of the Packers - Bears storied rivalry...

Cubs have White Sox and Cardinals.

Bulls have Pistons, Pacers, Jazz and Knicks (depending on the era).

Blackhawks have the Red Wings and Blues.

The Chief has Indiana and Mizzou.

You can't force rivalries to happen, just like you can't force two people to like each other. Do we really say that DePaul is our rival because they're 90 minutes from campus? There's just not enough bad blood for there to be a rivalry.

Chicago v. Milwaukee is a tangled web of alliances.  First, it was a Chicagoian who moved the Braves out of Milwaukee.  The Appleton Foxes were the White Sox farm team once upon a time...which created a long level of loyalty to the Sox in Wisconsin as fans could see these stars move up.  But, the Brewers came back into the American League.

I can tell you with no uncertainty, Brewers vs. Sox games were living brawls, far worse than versus the Cubs.  I was at Comiskey one game, and a fan passed out and was being taken out on a stretcher.  As he passed, an empty paper beer cup war broke out between the two large groups of team fans as each chanted either "White Sox fan" or "Brewers fan" as they carted the lad out.  This soon led to fisticuffs, and the police escorting these groups (40 in total) out.  That left only four of us in the entire stadium to watch the game...because 90% of the total crowd had now been ejected via ambulance or paddy wagon.  How do I remember this, it was the longest game in American League history that lasted two days.  We were the only four fans who can say they watched the entire 25 inning game.  Surreal.

So the Brewers were my AL team and Bud went and ruined it for the Cubs fans.  It is so much more civil now...and friends tailgate together, and most abuse is good natured.  However, back in those days, one feared for their lives in the bleachers of County Stadium when the South Siders came to town.  Motorcycle gangs roamed right field.  I think there was even an attempt to kidnap Bernie.

How anyone can cheer against this Bulls team is beyond me.  And I'm a Bucks fan.

Easy if you're a Heat or Wade fan, knowing the Bulls will probably be their main contender.

Then you must not have been a Brewers fan before the move to the NL; they absolutely HATED the White Sox. Phil Garner challenged the White Sox announcers to a fight, (after they accussed the Brewers of throwing at Sox hitters.)  Tony Phillips ran into the stands at County Stadium to beat up two guys he claimed called him the N word.

Right. They USED TO. When they were in the same division. That's my point. If Milwaukeeans had an inferiority complex they would hate all Chicago sports teams. Instead they hate all a Chicago sports teams...that are in their division. Like any diehard sports fan does.

The Sox and Brewers were never in the same division.  The Brewers were in the AL East. Oh, how Brewer fans hated the Bluejays for winning those division titles.
