Saw that a student athlete was arrested for assaulting a DPS Officer.  Any ideas of who is in custody?

Yes, not a basketball player is a big reason why it would be "gnat" like coverage.

I was comparing this situation to two sexual assault situations, for which it is not even close to as serious as this one....gnat like.   I don't see where I compared it at all to bar fights or presumed slur....I don't see where anyone did.

When our African American basketball players were cited for (oh, the humanity) being in a bar (not drinking) underage and it became a cause celebe in local print and radio where was your outrage? When an African American basketball player was involved in a one punch fight over a presumed racial slur where were your "this deserves less than gnat like coverage" comments?
But when it's likely that a white student athlete assaults a campus cop it's a non story to you.

More than once you've brought up the bigoted coverage outlets like the New York Times gave the Duke lacrosse case. I agree. It was disgraceful, but for them the idea of privileged white Duke student athletes sexually assaulting a poor black girl was too appealing to let a few facts get in the way. Yet here you are three years after the fact referring to something that never met the threshold of anything more than an allegation as "a sexual assault situation". You're massaging the facts to fit your preferred narrative, just like the Times did.

43% of people can't identify New York on a map. http://technorati.com/lifestyle/travel/article/americans-lack-geographic-literacy-cant-find/     That doesn't make it ok.  I'm not worried about the ignorant people in this country, I was worried about the image of the school.  Apparently so were the people that run it, which is why they reacted the way they did.  It was good to see a few adults in charge.

When did I say, or even imply, that sexual assault accusations are OK if most people don't know about them? I was merely refuting your predictably exaggerated claim that those accusations badly sullied the university. The fact is, it really didn't much at all to Marquette University's image, considering that it wasn't a major story at the time and is at most an afterthought right now.

Early in my daughters's LAX career I was watching some middle schooler boys LAX.  I got Hooked when I watched a big tall Lax bro pick up a smaller boy by his shoulder harness and slam him to the grounded, one handed.  Sure he was expelled from the game, but the creativity of violence hooked me.  Despite that having observed my daughter play club soccer and LAX, I am sure LAX is much less dangerous and violent than soccer.

The man who took hits of LSD could have been any college kid, sports or not.  Just too bad it was at Marquette.
