Mods-

"Great season. Thanks, Junior, Trent."

Any way we can give Vander some love there?

Obvioiusly did not graduate...but was a big reason for such a great season.

(keep up the good work!)

Why would this not be a serious post?
Because in all seriousness, Vander left without a degree and no job.

Eh, poor usage. How does that work out anyway?

Had Juan and Jake not un-transferred, would we need to thank them too?

A transfer is different than going pro.

If Scoop existed in '03, would we not thank DW?

I think honoring those that exhaust their eligibility and/or graduate are worthy.  We'll call this the CO exception.  Had Chris decided to 'move on' after his 5 years and earned degree I would have applauded his commitment.

lol this is a basketball forum.  We're here to talk about basketball and the team, not cheer for academic achievement (as important as it is).  So Vander really should be mentioned.  I might lose sleep over this matter.

warriorchick

I am still taking my lead from Buzz.  I don't think he has mentioned Vander since he left.

If that's the case, it's really too bad.  Buzz recruited him; he knew what he was getting.  Few people on here love Buzz more than me but I'm with Vander.  There's gold in them thar hills.  Even if he ends up making 100K in Slovenia, that's not bad.

Just because it's my dream to see MU in the Final Four, doesn't mean it's Vander's.  Cut the kid a break.  He's trying to earn some bread, I bet Al would respect that.

I'm with APieper. Vander did a helluva lot for our team these past three years. His departure may leave some with a bad taste in their mouth but the good he did FAR outweighs the bad.

To answer Hilltopper's question, I think yes we could have included Jake and Juan and Ferguson for that matter. They all helped us to our best season since 03.

All that being said, its a line on a forum. I'm not going to worry about it too much.

Maybe.  Al could understand why Chones left...no brainer.  Maybe he would understand this as well, but Vander was anything but a no brainer and probably could have made a lot more gold had he hung in another year.  I wish him well, still would love to know who was whisper stupid crap in his ear because he said he was truly going to take earnest advice and truthful advice.  I suppose if 29 GMs say stay in school and one GM says you have a one in a 1000 shot, you end up hearing what you want to hear.  Hopefully it works out.

The Lens

I don't get this notion that another year changes him. He is who he is. I thinks he's a fringe nba player in 2013 or 2014.

Draft experts thought he had 1st round potential.  We'll never know.

By the way, get your guy J. Jones to catch a few balls this week....he killed me on Sunday.  Grrg.   ;)

Our guy Jordy had a game, tho...

My error--I read the "Thanks for a great season , Warriors" banner and thought that it already had been changed--I see that the news line is different.  Anyway, Blue was a Warrrior so he has been suffiently acknowledged.
