After Junior leaves, who takes over up high?

Obviously he thinks the game is over. Turn back to CBS.

Junior couldn't score his freshman or sophomore years either.  Derrick Wilson does the 2 most important things for a point guard to do better than anyone else on this team, and that is not turn the ball over and defend.  Wilson played better the entire tournament than Junior did.  I can't wait to see Wilson prove everyone wrong next year and lead this team to the Final Four.

Looking back at this year...We were rebuilding. We didn't know who our leader would be, we didn't know what we had. Now we have our first Elite since 2003. Now we have 2 maybe 3 players leaving.

Junior-A good leader, but not an amazing player
Trent-A great rebounder, turnover prone
Otule-Hopefully will not leave.

We have an amazing class coming in, we have SHOOTERS in that class, we have Steve Taylor 2.0, Jamil, Vander, and Ox all back. We have something good next year, and we have a program that has become great.

Derrick Wilson has pretty damn good vision.  If he works on his scoring this off season he can be very good.  He has all of the athletic tools.

Clam Crowder

Problem is Derrick needs to work on something that currently doesn't exist. It is not a matter of working on something, its a matter of CREATING a whole new dimension to his game.

chapman

Duane Wilson.  Derrick's ceiling is serviceable backup point guard on both ends.  Hard worker, just no talent.  Got to go with a playmaker.  Unless Buzz does the Anderson "starter".

mileskishnish72

I'm willing to be proved wrong, but Duane should not be counted on as a point in the NBE. He'll be a freshman, and there's a big jump for him. I'm hoping he'll have a great MU career, but Derrick will get the starts and the minutes. Duane will get some minutes, and develop.

Blackhat

Crean usually did a good job of getting freshman guards up and running.  Buzz may have no choice.  Duane has played a lot of ball coming up.

Derrick Wilson is a nice defender, even though at times he gets those "nick-nak" reach in calls.

But he is an offensive liability.  Today he had numerous open looks and did not shoot.  Cause he can't.

Other programs have that PG who can at least shoot and not be afraid.

Wilson has 11 points in 23 games dating back to the start of the BE schedule.  Thats .5ppg.

This will be a huge discussion over next 8 months, so we will see.

Blackhat

We know we're going to have one or more transfers this off season if history holds.  May find another guard still.

All true.  I'm not sure he has ever been asked to have an offensive game though.  Athleticism can't be taught.  Shooting can.

+1
Throw him into the fire and let him learn on the job.

Well he better get a good shooting coach, because the one he has been using for two years has not worked out. Time running out.

In those last 23 games he is 3 for 28 from the field.  11%.

We don't need more guards. We need more bigs, 6'11" or taller.

Gonna be hard to find this late in the game.  Probably better luck finding a guard who can shoot ala DJO a late recruiting season special.

We already have him, Jujuan Johnson is silky smooth.

i don't think you could be any more wrong about that.  duane wilson is 2x the athlete derrick wilson is.  he isn't going to get derrick wilson minutes for two years.
