Duane Wilson should be handed the ball, stated by Buzz, this is your team, lets go.

forgetful

De. Wilson will start, Du. Wilson will finish.  Provided that Wilson beats out Dawson for the pg position.  I think that will be a battle in its own right.

But he is an offensive liability.  Today he had numerous open looks and did not shoot.  Cause he can't.

Also not that fond of his passing, or lack thereof.  Can't tell you how many times this season there's been an open man for a split second, he usually sees it but won't make the play and thread the needle.  I think and hope that's an area that he has the ability to improve.  Yes it'll up his turnovers, but never making a play and then touting a low turnover number on swinging the ball around is worse.

Otule's Glass Eye

With a big run next year we should be able to lure Looney and Stone away from the blue bloods and sustain the success.

espn already has the prospectus for MU next year up after being eliminated, must have had it ready before the game..

Derrick Wilson will start at PG over Duane Wilson next year no question about it. He will also surprise roughly 90% of the board with how serviceable he can be. Duane MAY earn more minutes as the season goes on, but I'm not confident about that.

The only thing that MAY change that is Vander getting a shot at point, but I'm not buying that transformation either.

Tony Smith became an NBA point guard after being a "2" at MU.  Why wouldn't you think  Vander could make the transition his senior year?
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

I hand the keys to Duane Wilson tomorrow and not look back.

I think next year this team is going to be special with a capital S.  I fully expect Otule to come back and I also believe Mayo is gone.  I feel that Duane Wilson is going to be special and will be the starting point guard.  I expect another Big East title, another push at a Final Four, and an outside shot at a national championship.  It's not often teams have such a combination of remaining talent combined with such an infusion of incoming talent.  It's going to be exciting!

Agreed. I personally feel we did so well in this tourney because the field seems a bit weak this year, not trying to take away from our run though. Next year should look more like last year when UK won. I wouldn't give a crap if Mayo isn't here next year.

mr.MUskie

I'm cautiously optimistic about next year.  Every year we talk about the incoming freshmen and how fantastic they are, then they get here and they're... freshmen.  We're counting on these guys next year to step in and play like experienced players.  More likely than not, not going to happen.  We were also extremely lucky this year with injuries.  At the start of the season, who would have bet that Otule and Gardner would make it through the season without injuries?  Even if Chris comes back, we're in trouble if one of those guys go down.  I think next year has a chance to be special, but I could also see it being a step down from this year.

Farley36

Honestly I think the other thing that works in our favor next year is that the new Big East isn't going to be as good as the old Big East.  Should be easier to rack up an impressive record and win the conference.

State Street Warrior

Maybe it's just me, but this team just put together the longest run since we had a guy named wade in the backcourt. Let's respect and celebrate that for more than a couple hours before thinking about who runs the point next year.
