MU B2002

I have been watching this and facebook sharing every game day.  Great video.  So many pros in that video.  Also, an Otule cameo I believe.

Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it.

This is something they should update every year with the current players.
Have some patience, FFS.

+ 77 gazillion.

No other video gets me as jazzed or just encapsulates Marquette. I would love to see a new version next year.

HoopsMalone

That was such a great team.  I would have never guessed that it had multiple NBA players on it at the time.

That team would have had a great chance to win it this year.  That season, the Big East was a grind.  MU was undersized going up against guys like Hasheem Thabeet and DuJaun Blair.

In todays league, the big man rotation of Jimmy, Lazar, and Burke would have been enough given the scoring coming from the back court.

Is this a reminder to attend Holy Thursday mass today?

I can't stand the video. Love the concept but just feel like it's sort of trite or strangely scripted. I must be the only one who feels that way....

I am super psyched about the game tonight.

All of these vids are scripted... did you see the "hit the books" edition of 'Streets' that MU showed this season?  I'll take the Pray video anyday.

Cosign.  I'd love for this to be the intro video every year updated with new players.  It would never get old.

Add me to that list.  The video from this year is a joke, the guys dribbling the ball around campus?  It looks like it's made to appeal to the 4th grade basketball camps they hold at the Al.

Last year's video was also a good one, but the Pray video captures the essence of what it is to be a Warrior.

I'll agree with you--to an extent.  Overall, I do think the video is impressive, and gives me chills like others have mentioned.

But, there are definitely some parts of the scripting and/or execution by the players that are clumsy or awkward.  Some of the phrasing could have been done in more natural ways, and that might have helped a few of them come across as more natural.

That said, Jerel nailed the final "pray"--the way he said it and the look in his eyes redeems any of the earlier shortcomings.

If it ain't broke don't fix it, but I'd like to see it refreshed with some more Buzz flavor... including toughness and accountability and maybe a few Buzz-isms "play like our hair's on fire" "throw a good pitch throw a good pitch"

wonder if that could be integrated with the sort of intimidating/tradition feel

Imagine the student section memorizing the words and very solemnly saying them along with the basketball players as the video was played....it would be so amazing....

Pray video was money - but I really like this year's vidoe too....the overall production quality is vastly superior, and you can't beat cadougan trying to pass it around Al guarding him

Definitely lighter... I laugh each time I see the passing around Al shot... also the basketball coming through the bowling ball returner

Is this the best idea ever? I think it just may be... and everyone would stop complaining that MU never comes up with original cheers/chants

That would be really cool--like a prayer.  The video gives me chills the way it is.

BTW, that script was run over a photo of the BC student section as a Converse magazine ad in 2008.  I have a framed copy in my rec room.

Please, no? Starting the game off with a prayer? That's a bit different from "Thunderstruck," no?

MarquetteMAN

I was a freshman in 2008. When i saw this, i lost it. one of the greatest videos i have ever seen.
You'll know when you are in trouble. You'll know when you've messed up, because you'll hear a chant of three words. We Are Marquette. And when you hear that...Pray.

I'm not saying as a big pump up, like Thunderstruck. Imagine they play the video right after the montage. At the beginning of the season, the audio is very loud.. but as the season goes on, and more people learn the words, the audio gets turned down a bit, so that by the end of the season, the audio for the video is coming from the fans. After "Pray", Thunderstruck comes on. That place would be electric. If I were an opposing player, I'd have problems dealing with that.
