Surprise this was not posted ... They ran a graphic that Illinois has had at least 1 player from Peoria for the last 20 straight years.  I don't think MU can say that about Milwaukee!

Wayne McClain had about 95% to do with that. He went with Weber to Manhattan.

Miami's going to be a tough, tough out.

I really think the key will be trying to contain Larkin. He makes everything go. Gonna have to give him some different looks. Should be a good game.

Well if Miami plays a game like they did against Wake Forest, I like our chances.

Huge eff up by Illinois there. Have to foul Johnson, good god.

Illinois has a lot of talent, but they don't play very smart.

Miami is a tough match-up for MU. That hasn't prevented MU from winning games in the past though. Thursday can't come fast enough!

Miami seems just happy to be in the S16, whereas Marquette sounds like they've got more business to take care of. I like our chances Thursday.

I like that Larkin is only 5'11.  Yeah, he's great, but Paul is damn good too.  And larger.  I think we have some beef up front too.  Kadji is pretty big but didn't play that well.  I don't know who their fat dude is but Gardner can take him.  Their wings will be tough to defend but out of the last two sweet sixteens this is definitely our best shot right now.

UNC had a huge advantage inside with Zeller and Henson.  Florida had size and toughness down low mixed with shooting.  Miami is athletic, can run and shoot pretty well but doesn't have any overwhelming advantages.  Not to mention the experience factor too.  If any year is ours, this is it.

Yeah, I think so too. Their bigs are going to give us fits and D Wilson will have to play a lot to help contain Larkin if Jr can't stay with him.

Have to remember tonight Miami won almost inspite of Scott. He was way off his game tonight (maybe it was his eye), they are so difficult to contain. I'd feel better if Wilson or Junior were more athletic. Will be tougher for MU to pressure the backcourt, wouldn't be shocked to see MU try some zone.

Illinois stayed in the game with sheer will power and toughness. If they think Illinois plays physical they're in for a rude awakening against Marquette. I'm confident.

There's no chance we play in the afternoon is there? Are they all evening games?

I guess I'll have to go to work on Thursday then :/

Part of me -- the part who has a lot of Illiniwek friends and would have hated losing to them in the Sweet 16 -- is glad Illinois lost.

The other part of me is scared to death of Miami ... but I think we all saw that the Hurricanes ain't invincible, either. Nobody in this tournament field is, that's for sure.

Clam Crowder

Reggie Johnson vs. Ox will be AWESOME to watch they are both listed around 290 pounds. What a matchup that will be. Having Otule switch in with Ox will be huge for us.

Junior vs. Shane will be a mismatch. Shane is too good and too fast. Derrick might be looking at extended minutes yet again

I think going Zone will be a good move, Buzz has a week to prepare.

I agree 100% with the idea that this is our best shot for the elite 8...Thursday can't come soon enough
