I heard through the grape vine that when Notre Dame plays Marquette, MU may introduce the Manti' Te'o Kiss Cam. *This is hear say through fellow MU grad students

I guess the Cleveland Caviliers did this in their last home game.

The joke is when a guy has nobody sitting next to him there going to show his mug on the "Manti Te'o Kiss Cam"   Clever if you ask me.  I hope MU does it!

Yeah, it's only been a week, but the whole Te'o thing has gotten old.

Its cool with all the minor league teams making Te'o nights, but I would think Marquette is above this especially with a fellow Catholic school.

There should not be anything from the university or the arena.    The student section, however, is probably obligated to do something.

Clever but the ND game is over 5 weeks away. This story will likely be old news by then.

I vote for The Chicken holding a blank piece of poster board over his head to introduce the newest Noggin, Lannay Kekua.
Have some patience, FFS.

🏀

You heard wrong. No way the AD would support this.

When the students hold up the Big Heads someone can hold up a "blank head".

Good one.  Why didn't I think of that?

Brad Stevens told the Butler faithful before gameday and before the game against the Zags to get rid of any signs like that.

That guy is a class act.

This sums up my expectations of MU (and their marketing dept.).
1. Observe other teams, schools, leagues come up with new material
2. Wait months/years for material to become stale
3. Use material
4. Congratulate themselves on a job well done

Who was the last famous person to have an imaginary girlfriend?

Answer, Barack Obama.  In his book "Dreams of my Father" the girlfriend he described did not exist.  He explained it away as it being a composite of all his girlfriends.

I agree that it is classless, at my age, but I woulda been all over that as a student.  A chance to embarass ND!  Are you kidding??

I'll bet my roomate from MU, a respected Milwaukee area business owner, (and can still gin up a good ND hate 30 years later) is just itching to get involved in this.  He's probably encouraging his 2 kids at MU to do something obnoxious.

You do realize that this kind of stuff isn't handled by their Marketing Department right?

While I do not expect Marquette employees to get into this, doing something like that would not be classless at all.  The guy had a fake girlfriend who he claimed to have died in order to get more publicity and pity and "look at how strong he is, playing through 2 personal tragedies in 1 day to honor such great people" so that he could increase the likelihood that he wins the Heisman Trophy.  Even if he TRULY knew NOTHING about the fact that she wasn't a real person (he did, which is why his dad talked about meeting her, different accounts of when the 2 met, etc. etc. etc.), he continued to tell media his/her story on December 8th and 11th, yet he claims he found out it was a hoax on December 6th.  That makes sense...

Manti T'eo is classless.  The jokes that he gets for his actions are what he deserves.

Boo-hoo Notre Dame.  I would like someone to explain why it is classless to poke fun at a rival who lied to the public like this.  Newsflash--THE GIRLFRIEND DIDN'T DIE!  THERE WAS NO GIRLFRIEND!!  It's not like we are making fun of a dead person.  Are you afraid someone's feelings might get hurt because they were a sucker?    Boo-hoo.

Have at it, I say.  I just might get one of those T-shirts.

Yeah, because over the summer he organized the hoax to get a true defensive player into the Heisman race. I'm sure he was thinking, hey, I've made one interception in my career to date, but I think I plan on intercepting 7 this year - an unheard of number for an inside linebacker - and really get my name in the mix. Plus, even though ND has lost at least 5 games my first three years, and our QB situation is a mess, I really think we're going to run the table and go undefeated this season and get to the BCS title game, which will also increase my chances to get in the Heisman race. Oh, and even better yet, wouldn't it be awesome if my grandmother died during the season to gain some sympathy? And let's go even further and create a fake girlfriend that I'll lie about to garner even more sympathy that will for sure put me in the Heisman race 3 games into the season.

Come on man, there's not enough pot in the world to make up such an elaborate hoax "to garner sympathy" for the Heisman voters. The guy got scammed.

The Marquette student section is taking a stale idea from someone else and using it as their own?

sounds about right

I wonder what the reaction would be from our fan base if opposing teams had made signs or shouted chants about mistakes our players had made.  Or maybe something about Mayo stemming from his academic issues.

My guess is we wouldn't think it was funny at all.

The people who do stuff like this really makes me scared for our future....
