The Lens

UW beat the #2 team in the country, on their home court and TMJ4 throws it in at the end of sports, after 6 minutes of Packers.

Please remember this when some want to claim about the lack of coverage for MU.  If Bucky beating IU rates below Jermichael Finley signing at a Walmart, there's no hope for us.

Wait, what Walmart was Jermichael doing a signing at?

For what it is worth, the Badger game ended after the 10pm newscast had begun.  Not sure how fast TMJ4 is on covering any team victories that happen during their newscast.  As to who TMJ4 gives more time to (i.e., Bucky or MU), it is pretty clear it is Bucky.

the backup fullback for the packers could take a duece that looks like Aaron Rodger's stache and that would be the lead story in this damn state.

I thought this was going to be about the game announcers mentioning several times that Wisconsin guards were abused by the Marquette guards. I thought MU being mentioned several times in a game they were not even playing in was great.

I liked Dan Dakich saying how tough Wisc is, but that they got "out-toughed" by Marquette.

Over to Bruesewitz...he passes it to the man... and boom goes the dynamite.

We definitely got lots of good press last night. Refreshing to hear on an ESPN telecast.

Yep, that's basically true.  It's difficult being a basketball fan in a football-crazed state.  What both the MU and UW bball teams have accomplished in recent years always are overshadowed by the Packers and seemingly even the Brewers sometimes, despite the Brewers sporadic at best success.  Don't even get me started on the Bucks, even though their recent play doesn't deserve much coverage.

Everything is driven by the Packers. Being from Illinois, I don't like the Pack much, but here it's just suffocating. Having Aaron Rodgers on your commercial is not going to guarantee you good business. The commercial about the car insurance or good driving habits or whatever. He has no reason being there. Much like ESPN's coverage of Tebow, any time they move a muscle, it's already news.

Local news in Milwaukee is very poor in covering college sports.

Fixed.

As a retired news director let me tell you the sports director would have had a conversation with me about why he didn't lead the sportscast with the Badger upset.  You monitor the game and have some video edited ahead of time and throw the final edit on during the newscast if the game ends at 10:10 or whatever time.

Total BS otherwise.
