If Little Buzz pops out around the end of Sept., we'll know how the coach spent some of his suspension.

He said a few words about it on the TWC32 Inside MU show as well.   Said something like .. when he saw Junior's 3 go in, he didn't even react, no jumping/screaming.

Miserable for having to put up with the ol' lady for 2 days?

Buzz didn't say no jumping/screaming. It was more like I'm not a fan, I'm a coach.

Except when he jumps and screams and dances on the sideline while coaching...

Hey, Larry saved us from becoming Penn State and getting the death penalty.   We owe you Lar.

Buzz had a hobby until LW banned him from dancing.

"Williams, who grew up in Texas, romanticizes about the old Big East and is uncertain about what is to come in the new league. He's not thrilled with the change, but he understands the financial decisions being made."

This was the quote that I liked the least.... I definitely don't want to start a "Buzz is leaving" thread, but it's never good to hear that your coach is unhappy with the direction that the program is going.   :-\

I think we'd all long for the BEast as it was when something like 10 teams made the tourney and it was ranked #1.  What's being created is the next best thing to that and the best possible scenario.  It'll remain a plum coaching assignment.

Uncertainities about the new league does not equal an unhappy coach with the direction of the program.....at least not from that quote.
Some things Buzz cannot control, but the direction is which his program is going is not one of them.

Well, I don't know what choice MU had in the matter. The old Big East died, nothing MU could do about that. So, MU decided to make the prudent decision (most people's view) and be part of a group that would put together the best basketball-only conference they could. Right now, it looks like MU has done their best to make the most out of a bad situation.

Whether Buzz Williams likes that or not, is IMO somewhat irrelevant. He will have his choice to stay or leave. But, the decision to leave the old Big East and form this new conference certainly looks like the best choice for MU.

Was buzz in the stands or at home during the game?  Or elsewhere....
All this talk of rights.  So little talk of responsibilities.

Yes, we all loved the old Big East. But it's gone. If he eventually leaves for a school in Texas, good luck. No one gives a damn about college hoops in Texas. There are three sports in Texas: Pro football...college football...and high school football.

Personally, I think a coach could do worse than to end up in a hoops-centric league with successful, like-minded urban schools. I really believe this will be a successful conference.

Hoops centric league with successful, like-minded urban schools?!?!?    You mean like the original Big East?

I'm just wondering when Larry is going to serve his suspension?  After all, he is responsible for Buzz, just as Buzz was responsible for Monarch, and therefore he should be suspended for not controlling his program.

If Buzz leaves, he leaves.  With our staff, I won't be concerned.  I think some here hold Buzz above the program itself, and with the salary he gets and resources Marquette provides (private jet, money, etc), he has a pretty sweet deal here. If he leaves, i'd be pleased with one of our assistants we have.
