The BMO Harris Bradley Center is now selling the naming rights to the four entrances.

http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/174775821.html

The Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce and the BMO Harris Bradley Center announced Thursday that the naming rights to the arena's four main entrances have been sold to four companies, a move that provides significant new revenue.

The four companies are Miller Lite; Northwestern Mutual; Kohl's Department Stores; and Potawatomi Bingo Casino. Financial details were not disclosed, although it is a multi-year agreement.

F*ckin' tried to name the South entrance as"Hairy Wet Cats," but was outbid.
"Give 'Em Hell, Al"

The BO Center should have sold the entrances to Old Spice, Gillette, Dove, and Degree.  In their next move, every seat will be sold to a sponsor for 75 cents each.

Anything they squeeze out of the BC is a good thing. We only play in a NBA arena as long as there is a NBA team in Milwaukee.

From a fans prospective, this sounds a lot easier than Gates A-D, just look for the huge corporate logo.

I really wonder if naming rights have much value. Have any of you ever purchased anything from a company, because therir name is on a building?

Brand marketing is hardly ever about immediate sales. It's all about building trust with the consumer while making your brand distinct from others. The whole process can take decades or even entire generations.

Naming rights are a great brand marketing vehicle because people typically have good times in arenas and subconsciously relate having a "good time" with the things they see around them.

Every time I walk into Miller Park I buy a Miller before I even go to my seat.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

You also PARK before even going into the stadium. Double down!

It also makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong if I don't have a Miller product when tailgating.

Here's a list of some naming rights deals and average annual revenue:

Negative. The south entrance was the shaved gate sponsored by on the border.

Art's would have been pissed if OTB outbid them.

It's pretty much the same concept with advertisement on Tv or in magazines? Do you buy a certain beer just because of a commercial? If advertising didn't work, the most successful companies wouldn't pay millions every year doing it.

Just think how much a 30-second commercial costs and then compare it to the millions of people that go to the BC every year. For BMO, they have their name on every ticket sold and announced on every national broadcast for Marquette and the Bucks. Not a bad investment for a national brand compared to what the costs would be for a similar costs of naming rights for cities like Chicago and NY.

And I have to give credit to BMO Harris for stepping up big in Milwaukee including their naming rights at the BC and their investment down at Summerfest.

They should have put Miller Lite on the student entrance.  They are  stuck with Northwestern Mutual.

The photog couldn't get a pic without including the chipped, spray painted median and filthy street in the foreground?

You actually have a degree from Marquette?

Quote from: muguru
No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

I happen to be very proud that her freshman year, my daughter (along with some friends) camped out overnight to be the first in line for the Madison game, using a box of Cap'n Crunch as a pillow. Buzz handed her a donut the next morning and told her she was crazy.

I am also very proud to say that was the LAST time she camped out overnight.  She found it to be more of a bucket-list type deal, and would rather get in a few more hours of sleep and studying going forward.

She kept the box of Cap'n Crunch as a souvenir.

That's nothing. I camped out in 1974 and I believe 1976 for three nights to get tickets. My future wife joined us. We had rotations that covered for classes, tent checks etc. We were all on the lawn between Brooks Memorial Union and the language center.

By that standard, today's kids are wusses!

I kept the wife as a souvenir.

I actually think this is a brilliant advertising plan.  Someone briefly mentioned it previously, now we can easily identify the entrances and the sponsors get free word of mouth

"I'll meet you at gate A"
"Which one is that one again?"

"I'll meet you at the Miller Lite Entrance"
"OK great and we'll get a beer once we get in"

It takes seven times for a concept to sink in, now we'll be repeating these names potentially 18 times a season.  This makes much more sense even then naming the whole stadium.
"A Plan? Oh man, I hate plans. That means were gonna have to do stuff. Can't we just have a strategy......or a mission statement."

Yeah.  By the time I got to school in '79 they had gone to the Blue and Gold ticket plans and camping out had faded to a memory.
