Keenan Thompson or Tracy Morgan as Gardner?  Aren't both of those guys like 5'6"?  although I think that Keenan Thompson has the weight about right.

For myself, I think that Hand of Adams Family fame would be most appropriate.

For 4ever, I'd go with Cousin It, also of The Adams Family.
