Did you read the post. I was talking about the Ticker during games, not on everything.

I stand by my original statement.

Golden Beavers?

I'm waiting for someone in Beaver Dam to become offended by this mascot.

Female foxes are called vixens, so Golden Vixens.  Would help or hurt recruiting for women's sports?

For some of us of a certain age, "Vixen" is a reminder of this movie. Not sure the women's team would appreciate it.

Plus - hard to believe - it's been taken!

The Marquette Zorros

My favorite: is german fuchs=fox.

The marquette fuchs would be gold.   pun intended.

Agreed.  What's even worse...

A co-worker of mine's son goes to school at Northern Michigan University, which is in Marquette, MI.  And where does she tell everyone that her son goes to school?

"Ronnie just home from Marquette for winter break.  Ronnie's up at Marquette for the semester.  Ronnie and Marquette bla bla bla."

I've corrected her I don't know how many times but she still says it.

Wow, crazy. Does she not know the difference? I mean, does she actually think her son goes to a school called Marquette University?

What about if Marquette did an alternate jersey like Louisville and Syracuse, where it just said Quette on the front? I'd bet 15-25% would love it and 75-80% would absolutely hate it.

Not saying I'd actually want this, but it would be interesting though.

“All men dream; but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act out their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible.” - T.E. Lawrence

Would rather have all black alternate jerseys than gutter trash like kits that said "Quette" on them.

Okay, what about taking a cue from Long Beach State then?
