Funny how 3 students try to take initiative and start a new tradition for MU students and they get absolutely railed for it. So what if it's taken from another school...News Flash - ALMOST EVERYTHING DONE AT ANY SPORTING EVENT IS TAKEN FROM SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I can semi-understand the criticism of the timing, but at the same time, it's Senior Day. Not only Jae and DJO's last game, but the last game for many students (as a student) - there SHOULD be something special to get people more involved, interested, and most importantly, excited for the game...mainly because there has been NONE of the three at most games this year.

If you don't like it, fine...but don't criticize the idea when you have nothing better to bring to the table.

It's much easier to organize the 700 students in the crowd at Boise State than the +4000 MU MU students tomorrow.

Even when we get a crappy student turnout, the numbers are greater than 95% of schools' student sections if not more.

My then-17-year-old son was the first one to show me a Utah State video from YouTube some months back.  When I told him I thought it was impressive, he replied with.  "Psh - they are all Mormons.  That is about the only exciting thing they are allowed to do."

+1.  At least you're doing something.  I'll be in the upper deck across from you, chanting my heart out as well as the old alums that sit around me in their sweater vests wonder what the frack is going on, yelling at me to sit down. 

Maybe rather than bash you guys the folks on this board that will be at this game (I know all Scoopers that live within 10 hours of Milwaukee will be there, because if you can't drive to every home game from 10 hours away you're not a real MU fan) should join in and tell those around them before hand what's going to happen. 

Imagine 19,000 MU fans chanting ANYTHING in unison at the Hoyas, that's intimidating.

I'm glad the fanatics are making attempts to get organized - i think continued progress in that will make a HUGE difference in the student section.

i will disagree about bringing booze in. i was there just 5 years ago and, unless things drastically changed, you can still pull it off.

I'd need someone from a previous generation to comment here. There had to be some student section chants during the Maguire era, right?

Any of the prior generations have any unique chants that were constantly used by marquette?
