Back in (year) when I was a student, we blew off (class name/professional responsibility) and we waited outside the (Old Gym/MECCA/Bradley Center, pick at least one) longer than the students these days, one time even for (number) hours to watch Marquette play (opponent of subjective level of significance), then once we got inside, we were louder, drunker, and crazier than any of you kids! You should be lining up at (equivalent time) if you want to even be considered (fraction) the fans we were back in our day!


You may recognize this line of argument. It's also used to show how "the old cast" of SNL is better, and the new cast sucks. Then five years later, the cast that sucked is now a pantheon of comic genius.

I agree with this 100%. I had to leave right away after the ND game because the girlfriend had to work and with it going to OT, she was already running late. I still felt bad about it. Last year, the place was near empty as we sent off JFB, Buycks, Fulce, and Frozena. I think losing on Senior Day really hurts because a lot of people tend to take off. One more reason I'm hoping for a win this year, maybe more people from what should be a capacity crowd will give DJO and Jae the regular-season sendoff they deserve.

Totally agree.  After a win there's just a buzz to the BC that keeps on going during the ceremony.

Either way, DJO and Crowder put in years of work to the program.  The least I can do is stick around for 30 minutes after a Saturday home game and give them their props.

In my day, I drank an entire keg by myself before the game, stayed up all night partying afterwords, walked straight from the 'Lanche to my Physics test and passed it!

And they need to bring back football!

In my day, we had professors meet us at Hegarty's for study sessions, got them drunk on Guinness, and then plied them for the answers they wanted to see on their essay tests.   (True)
In my day, one of my profs wrote down the wrong time for the final on his planner so he was an hour late for the final.   I went over to Heg's, split a pitcher, shot two games of pool, came back and aced the final (also true)
I went to every game that took place on campus while I was on campus.  (true)  
This straddled the Majerus/Dukiet transition.   I don't want to hear it.

and in December of 2012 after a bad loss as the team adjusts to life without DJO and Jae, this Board will be filled with all sort of nostalgic ruminations of how bad we suck now and the Glory Days of last spring and how the Big East will kick us out to join the Horizon League and remember when we beat Bucky at their place and pasted UCONN on the road? ...ahhh, those were the days.

Found this video of the MU-Gtown game at the BC back in 2008.  I hope the outcome is different but the BC was ROCKIN that day!  The noise level after the Burke dunk was off the charts.
