Seth Davis has us at 25.

From the Athletic: I felt compelled to rank Marquette after its home win over Creighton, even though the Bluejays were without their best player, 7-foot junior Ryan Kalkbrenner. (Check out Hoop Thoughts for my rant on that topic.) Marquette also won at Notre Dame and drilled Baylor at home, and its three losses came to ranked teams by a total of 11 points. Three of the Golden Eagles' next four games are conference road games, and then they host UConn on Jan. 11.

I'm with JB -- hoping MU sneaks in 23-25. But there wasn't a ton of losing at the bottom of last week's rankings or among the leaders of others receiving votes, so I won't be at all surprised if we're just outside.

Utah State on some of these ballots is hilarious. The best team they have played is Oral Roberts and do not have ONE power 6 team on the schedule this year. There are probably ~50 teams that would roll through their current schedule undefeated...

Taking the spot of Marquette in most of those it appears.

Marquette is now in 6 of 9 that have been posted.  The highest being 19th from Jerry Carino.

Not sure what ratio you typically need to get in but if we do I'd expect no higher than 23.

It'll be close!

22-24, guessing 23. Will jump Ohio State and Maryland. May jump Auburn but I doubt it. I think Arizona State may end ahead of us because they ran rougshod over San Diego in addition to beating Creighton (though not as convincingly as we did).

I've been following polls for quite some time and Rick Bozich always keeps Marquette out of the Top 25 if they are a borderline Top 25 team.  Every season.  I imagine something happened in the past for him to not like Marquette because it is actually every season where he ranks them lower than the rest.

Just something I've picked up on over the years.

I've been following polls for quite some time and Rick Bozich always keeps Marquette out of the Top 25 if they are a borderline Top 25 team.  Every season.  I imagine something happened in the past for him to not like Marquette because it is actually every season where he ranks them lower than the rest.

Strong list by Borzello, and I like where he's got our heroes. One thing that's interesting when reading that entire piece is how many close wins over meh opponents some good teams have (or even horrible losses, such as Arizona State to Texas Southern). Our worst two games IMHO were Chicago State and Radford, and we still won both by double digits. Nothing close to a "bad" loss. Only three losses, all to ranked teams, including a nail-biter to No. 1.

We Are Marquette ... and we've got a nice season going on!
