I hope someone comes in.  The shooting was to say the least pretty poor.

DJO was 5 for 16.

MU three point was 6 for 26.

MU free throws were 14 for 23.

A few here or there and MU wins that game.

Mayo. And that isn't even amazing.

I liked all his opportunities. Just was off today.

Todd hit some big shots to build the lead in D.C. He'll continue to know when go and when to hold back.

He has no fear in shooting.  I wish, though, he wouldn't take those 3's from the side on fast breaks.

The point is that this team is going to be sad if we have arguably one good shooter.

From what I've seen so far, Mayo should get the most touches next year on O.   Doesn't panic and usually shoots the ball better than today.

Agreed. Probably saw too much of Novak doing that in the Autumn and thought it was easy.

TJ Taylor is supposedly a shooter
I believe Ferguson has a decent outside shot as well.

Wasn't Anderson a solid shooter in HS?

Not really.

But Thomas is a zone buster. ;)

Thought he was supposed to be more of a slasher

Silkk the Shaka

Think Steve Taylor has a solid perimeter game - like Crowder and Hayward before him

He is.  But from what I have read, he has 3 point range and a decent shot.

Decent in high school = not good in college.

Do we have any shooters this year?

The way the seniors took us out of our rhythm yesterday with forced 3's......

Obviously they can shoot.  Need better bb iq.

Exactly. Could be a long year in 12-13. Maybe jamail jones gets some confidence, I still haven't given up on him.

Agreed on JJ.  I was actually watching him pretty closely in his limited minutes yesterday and (limited sample size) I thought his D was pretty good so here's hoping he's improving on that end of the floor.

He needs a breakout game where he gets something to fall and I think he can turn it around.  Hard to do that on the bench though...needs minutes and don't know if he'll get them.

Jake Thomas

I would actually take the teal off.  Buzz was willing to give him a scholarship this year.  He is not your typical walk-on.  If a team packs in it against us and leaves the perimeter open (zone or some hybrid defense) I think Buzz will bring in Thomas and let him bomb away.

Thus that gives us two proven shooters for next year, Mayo & Thomas.  We do need at least one more to step up.

Queue up another annoying, recurring, garbage thread that comes up every single year... who is going to score after the Three Amigos?!!?  who is going to score after Hayward and Butler?!?!  who is going to score after DJO and Crowder?!?!  Trust me, next years' team will have scorers.  Somehow, SOMEWAY, we'll find ways to score points.  It'll be OKAY, fellas.

OMG, WHO IS GOING TO SCORE?!?!?!!

Yep.  Agree with everything you said.  Did I really read someone post that '12-13 will be a long year?  Stunning.  Well, really I guess it is typical.

I'm going to be the first to predict it, but I'm going to put JC at 12 pts 6 assists per game next year.  I think next year we are one of those teams that have 5 guys average in double figures every game. In case people are wondering who, JC, Vander, Mayo, DG and Wilson.

I have been going to MU games since before freshmen were eligible to play. We have had very few players that shoot as well as Mayo does as a freshmen. Generally, players get more consistant as they get older. Although, you can point to James as the exception.

Mayo is shooting 33% over the last 6 games.
