Just like the Green Bay Packers got beat by a 5-8 team yesterday, MU loses to a team many feel it should beat.  Sometimes it just isn't your night and you get outplayed.  Tonight was one of those nights.  LSU played very well, their length bothered us, and we simply got beat on the road.  Tip your cap.

It gets really old reading (what I assume to be) grown men's reactions to 20 year old college kids playing basketball - when these kids lose or have a bad game.  The LSU Game Thread was embarrassing.
"I'm not sure Cadougan would fix the problems on this team. I'm not even convinced he would be better for this team than DeWil is."

We beat ourselves, repeatedly.

New team rule. No drinking before tip off.
Lazar picking up where the BIG 3 left off....

I'll agree with that Ners...half the 3's LSU threw up and made looked more like prayers of desperation...that tonight we're going in.

ATWizJr

Eff the opponent. Do ever blame our own play?  Blew a 13 point lead.  Incredulous.

I don't think so. They had wide open looks and made them.

A 13 point lead with like 75% of the game to go.  While this sucks it's not like this is Louisville 2.0 or something.

The only thing that kept us in the game was the horrendous free throw shooting of LSU until the last 4 minutes of the game.

I thought that might let MU steal the game at the end.  Unfortunately, we fouled the wrong guy a couple of times.

So we lost a 30 minute game and they spotted us 13?  Pretty bad.

I'm also sick off the "grown men complaining about college kids" crap. This is major division I basketball, if a little criticism hurts go to school at UWGB. I didn't read the game thread but this team deserves to be ripped a bit.

At least 3 of Turner's makes were prayers. The one from 5 feet behind the arc wasn't even a shot, he just shoved the ball in the general direction of the basket and it managed to fall. We didn't play particularly well, but LSU got a lot of breaks. Seriously, on that early possession when Ox got 4 straight offensive boards, how many times was he fouled? 4? 6? None were called.

Yes, we played like crap on a slanted floor.

Don't blame the refs...we sucked and deserved to lose.

MattyWarrior

Trent Johnson is a good coach. Before the game he gave us all the kudos but knew our weaknesses and exploited them.
There defense was great and their guards as good as ours. He adjusted better than Buzz!

We didn't play well, they hit miracle shots, and the refs aren't the only thing to blame, but seriously, even giving Buzz that warning was ridiculous. They got away with a lot of BS. There are many reasons we lost. Running uphill all night wasn't the only reason, but it didn't help.

Buzz was like 10 feet past the line - he deserved his warning.  It didn't harm MU in any way and had nothing to do with the outcome of the game.

DCWarriors04

I can think of a couple times Johnson was at the half court line and never got a warning, like Buzz did. Not going to pin any of this on the refs...but it was a slanted court at times.

Even if that were the case, the warning had no effect, in any way, on the rest of the game.

It's not the effect it had, it's the clear disparity in how the reffing of the two teams was handled. You can't honestly tell me they deserved 27 FTs to our 14.

96warrior

Hate to blame reffing, and not doing so here, but have to say that there were way more ticky tack fouls against us with a whole slew of non-calls in their favor. That said - really glad Buzz didn't get T'ed up for his 3 point attempt. That alone was worth watching the rest of the game.

Usually the refs give that warning as a "shot across the bow".  Letting the coach know they are getting tired of the complaining.  I did not see that, though, as the reason tonight.

At first I thought it was because MU was late getting out of the TO.  Seemed a little oddly placed and timed.  But, really meant nothing, as always.

Ten of those were in the last 1:20 as MU was fouling.  Eight were shot by Hamilton who is a near 80% shooter.  Six others came on dumb fouls on threes.

They played much more aggressively in attacking the rim than we did.  I can't recall a game where we drove to the hoop and threw up such weak garbage as this game.  Probably due to their size I suppose.

Whatever the cause, we are not going to get bailed out of weak play on the road.

This is exactly how I saw it.
