Hate to say it but I picked Bucky.  But, if they win that game, then I would say undefeated when BE play starts.

I think Vandy will be tougher than UW-Madison

Agreed on all counts. I also agree that Vandy is tougher than Bucky, but home court is why I think we lose at UW and win against Vanderbilt. I think Vandy will be the game that gets DJO into the national spotlight.

Of course, undefeated in non-con is possible. It could take the Rodents some time to figure out life without Leuer and Nankivil, and Taylor is now going to be defensive focus 1, 2, and 3. Throw a combo of DJO and Wilson at him, with a few hard challenges from Otule, and force Gasser and Brusewicz to beat you.

I'll admit I'm drinking the undefeated Kool Aid.

For those that picked Mount St. Mary's ... has MU ever lost its first home game of the year?  When was the last time MU lost to a team that was 11-21 the previous season and had an RPI above 300?

If we lose this game, would it be one of biggest disappointments in MU history?

I'll lay 10-1 odds those are Badger trolls or other Marquette haters just thumbing their noses. Pay it no mind.

I picked UW too.  However, outside of Taylor they are very young.  This is going to be a fun rivalry to watch develop over the next few years.  Bo has got some young players on his roster now, and others coming in the next few years, that are taylor made for what he wants to do.  I wouldn't doubt that they are contenders for the B10 title starting next year.

And of course we are getting more talented as well...and play almost an exact opposite style.  In a couple of years, this could be a battle between two top 10 teams.

Buzz Williams' Spillproof Chiclets Cup

Wisconsin. It seems like that game is always a little extra chippy, and I go into the Madison away game every other year with the assumption that Wisconsin is already up 7-0 before the tipoff. They seem to get that many points off cheap fouls.

I said 3rd game in USVI.  We stink playing 3 days in a row under Buzz.  Hopefully that will change this year with a deeper bench.

God help us if we lose any games in the PJ... I'm pretty sure if that happens,  the MUScoop server will crash within 5 minutes following the final buzzer.

Expecting 2 losses, I'll deal with 3, 4 I will lose hope.

Hopefully 3 wins out of these 5:
bucky
vandy
wash
UVI - Final
LSU

In the first 2 games of the PJ, starters won't see more than mid to high 20's as far as pt goes. I think they are hungry for and win the PJ title.

We R Final Four

If Hightower is reffing the Bucky game, we will have too many obstacles to overcome in Madtown.

ErickJD08

I say undefeated because I am a homer and that Nonconference schedule blows chunks.

I picked Wash. I picture us going in and getting a really satisfying win at bucky, and then the talk here picking up as we start really getting ahead of ourselves. Then we fly out to NYC and have a bit of a reality check game.

Also another theory on the people that picked Mt St Mary's - maybe people got them confused with the WCC St Mary's?

I'd say this isn't quite a fair statement just yet - As I recall the rosters have been so thin in Buzz's Year 1 and 2 - that to be able to compete 3 nights in a row with having only 6 high major players is tough duty.  In last year's games...I believe the only 3 games in a row was Big East tourney and we got Lville coming off of a double bye...tough sledding, though UCONN was able to somehow remarkably pull it off - albeit with Kemba Walker...the nations best player.

Does anyone have the 2012-13 schedule so that I may choose appropriately?  On second thought, how about 2013-14?

Yeah I would argue the sample size isn't big enough.  We have only played on three consecutive nights twice during Buzz's tenure, the last two years of the BE tourney.  And that field is a little tougher than the PJ field.

41-0

Actually, to make a better prediction: I bet we win more games than the Bucks do this year.

If we beat Bucky I think we run the table........or lose at LSU. Yes, at LSU. For whatever reason I think that could be the over looked game IF we are undefeated going into it.

If we are undefeated going into the Vandy game to close out the non conference, I think we win and I think we do it in a good fasion.

It wouldn't surprise me if we lost any games in that mix
Made me sick to pick Bucky. I don't wanna watch that game, the stress is gonna make me physically ill.

Fine on the homer mindset, but that's a quality schedule. UW, Vandy, and Washington are all likely preseason top 25. Northern Colorado and UW-M were top 100 RPI last year. Even Jacksonville is dangerous -- they beat the Gators in Gainesville last year.

I'm a little worried about LSU too.  It won't bother me if we lose to UWisc, UWash or Vandy (unless of course we blow a 7 point lead in the final minute or something).  I don't really see us losing in the PJ.

But I will be at LSU for that game and I haven't seen us win in person in like four years.  Plus I will be with my wife who is an LSU grad and if we blow that game its going to be really tense around the house for a long time.
