Is there any reason to think that a player would come on an official visit and *not* be given a firm scholarship offer?  Does that happen much?

Shouldn't we be at the point where we don't need to take projects, aina?

Like Gardner?

I don't consider Gardner as having been a project. He was the starting center on his state championship team. Projects were 0tule, Mbao, McMorrow, and Roseboro.

Otule not really a project.  Just needed development and, mostly, conditioning.

Being a starter on a state championship doesn't mean you're not a D1 "project". In fact, plenty of state champion starters don't even get D1 offers at all. Our biggest competition for Gardner was USF. So he was at least considered a project by talent scouts and coaches.

It happens.  How much?  Not certain.  MU has had a few over the years.  Wesley Green is one that comes to mind.  I know there were others, just can't recall their names.  Both Crean and Buzz used this to see how they fit in and would have the "work ethic" necessary to play for them.

Otule and Gardner both came in as projects. No one knew they'd be successful when they arrives any more than anyone knew Mbao and McMorrow wouldn't be. Anyone saying otherwise is lying.

I knew that Otule and DG would work and that Mbao and McMorrow wouldn't...but I'm also lying when I say that. Damn! You're right!

It'll be interesting to see what McMorrow can do this year.  I was excited to see him develop before he got diagnosed.

His stats were pretty underwhelming last season...

anyone hear anything about Big Aaron?  Any other visits lined up?,  Commitment timeframe?, etc.?

Was hoping for a commit coming out of the weekend.  Looks to have the size and athletic ability that would make for a great 4th recruit for this year's class.
